Parking near the London embassy

Hi guys,

My interview is coming up fast and normally I would just take the train to London and then use public transport. However, circumstances have changed so I need to have my car nearby - can someone recommend a car park near the embassy and possibly also give me an indication how bad traffic will be to get there for an 8am appointment (thus I guess should be there at 7.30, ideally?) I'd be coming from the North (M11).

Any Londoner's around who could shed some light, please?

Many thanks!

My fiance lived in London. I will ask her if she knows of anywhere decent to park.

I also had a question for you because you're in the same boat as she is. Amazing I've been waiting to speak to someone like you. Finally.

I was wondering if you could tell me something. My fiance just did her medical examination. How long will it take her to get her interview after her medical examination? We're dying to know.

I'll fill you in on a car park if she knows of any nearby. Thanks

Hi Erik,

Thanks for the replay and checking with your SO.

All timelines vary and it's not only the medical but also packet 3 that would influence when you will be allocated a date. I sent the documents on the 20th July, had my medical on the 25th July, got an interview date allocated on 9th August and interview is 4 weeks from that date.

However the medical was logged before the end of the week, the packet 3 took 2.5 weeks before they confirmed they had my documents.

Good luck on your journey.

There's a big car park under Hyde Park. You have to go a certain route or pay the fee for congestion charge. I remember a map showing the free corridor route.

Here--I found the thread from way back. Maybe it will help ypu figure something out. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/201803-traveling-to-london-anyone-tried-the-drive-into-london/

That was the one I used to use.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thank you for the quick response. So you're saying that from the time she sends her packet 3 it could take 6.5 weeks until her interview?

Thanks all for your help - since the car was full to the brim of stuff we ended up going to the NCP car park in Adam's Row (literally one block from the embassy) and all went well.

Erik, all I'm saying is that that's how long it took me - could be different story for your SO, as there are a number of factors.
