... I don't know about other places in Canada, but I just went to my local police station and all they needed was my addresses for the last 5 years. I filled it out on a form, they checked the information and less than five minutes later I had my police check....

In BC, I had to go to the local RCMP building, fill out the form, go over to city hall, pay for the completion of said form, go back to the RCMP building and show them I had paid for the police check and finger prints. I was walked to the back area and got locked into the room (I'm sure it's where the booking happens for people arrested, hence the getting locked in), my finger prints were taken with good ol' fashion black ink and then I was escorted back to the main entryway. I had to come back in 3 weeks to pick up my criminal record check.

So give yourself plenty of time to get your police certificate, it can be a very long process from start to finish.

Yesterday is HISTORY

Tomorrow is a MYSTERY

Today is a GIFT, that's why we call it the PRESENT.

Fingerprints are only needed if you are not in Canada or have a criminal record.

If you do not have a criminal record and are IN Canada you only need the name check.

Ottawa,

Went in to the police station got my paper filled out she put it in a machine, I payed her, it printed the paper back out with stuff on it and saying no record. She used an embossing stamp on it and I was done.
