Mailing your senator(s) definitely worked, i got my oath letter in the mail (updating status)

Just need to rant for a bit:

How crazy is it that an official government organisation is run so poorly? since my interview I spoke to over 10 different USCIS officers and every single one had a different story! also none of them actually got my issue resolved and most of them just did not care at all and were completely unreceptive to my problem. not to mention the ones not speaking english well enough to actually understand me (sorry i do not speak Spanish.. but we are in America, i do not expect you to speak dutch to me either now do i?)

these people are being paid by my tax dollars (cause as we all know, they do not mind taking our money while doing nothing in return) but if any, non-governmental agency would be ran this poorly they would have been gone out of business years ago and the owner would be in jail!

Every step of this journey has been a struggle with USCIS, they have never been able to provide accurate information and they have screwed up in every single step of the process, from getting my work permit, to the greencard and now this.

I wish there was something we can do, a class action lawsuit? or should i just wait untill i had my oath and run for office so i can change this system myself?

Anyways.. back to being happy! oath ceremony the 17th!

how mailing to your senator works? i wanna do the same how do i do that ? appreeciated the help and yeah the USCIS is so full of ######## excuse my french...

pretty easy: judging from your avatar you are filing in LA, that means you can contact either Barbara Boxer or Dianne Feinstein (if you studied for the test you should know B-) )

both have forms especially designed for this and both employ caseworker whose job it is to help people like us out.

both have privacy release forms you need to fill out, sign and mail to them with your case number alien registration number and copies of all the relevent paperwork.

for feinstein here: http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/casework

you can allways call or e-mail them so they can tell you exactly what you need to send them.

I'm on November file, still waiting for interview schedule. I'm in line for interview since January 9,

March 7, I called to 1-800 ask for my interview schedule, after that on March 9, I got e-mail from USCIS office in LA. They said;

You recently called to inquire regarding the status of your N-400 case. Our records indicate that we will send you a Citizenship Interview Notice within 60 days. Honestly I can not tell you when or what to do. In my specific case I just got so incredibly fed up with them not being able to tell me anything (or actually.. every single officer i called said something different, one said i was approved and i should get my oath invitation by e-mail (really?! by email??) one said they needed more information, one said they were waiting for some internal info, one said i needed to wait 90 days, one said i needed to wait another 2 months one said i had to wait 2 weeks)

if you call USCIS you can always request to talk to a higher level officer, usually they can tell you more about your case. the person you get on the phone in the first place will discourage you to do so but if you insist they will put you through.

if you are really fed up then by all means go ahead and write your senator. be aware that this also will take a while, it took them 2 weeks after they received my letter... still way better time then USCIS.

I have been in line for interview since march 6.. I'm NYC. it looks like NYC office is a little behind schedule. According to the processing times page they are working with August 2011
