i was not allowed to take my wife in with me, maybe that's what the rfe is for? they wanna see my wife... i don't blame 'em but hey, that's why she's my wife :blush:

i checked the papers she gave me btw and it really does state i passed and i had all the evidence hopefully it will all just go through on friday when my 3 year residency is

I had my interview yesterday...Here's what happened...It was scheduled at 9:15am...IO came out and called my name...said they're running late..so it will be moved to 9:30am. She then calls this lady ahead of me. IO officer seems nice, Lady was smiling at her too, after 30 mins, Lady ahead of me came out, with a confused/lost face. So I said to myself, I guess IO officer was kinda strict or something...coz she should be grinning if she got approved. Then it's my turn...AFTER 30 mins...I have the same look and face as the Lady ahead of me...CONFUSED and LOST.

Here's what happened during my interview:

IO was friendly and accomodating. We started with the "nothing but the truth etc". IO then asked for my Passport, GC & DL. Checked some stuff on my application. Then she started with the oral exam, I aced it. All questions were exactly from the cd/pamphlet. I just remember the answers such as:Mississipi river, civil rights, bill of rights, native americans,july 4,1776, freed the slaves. So pretty much that's all I remember answering and she said "Very Good, Perfect". then she made me read and write a sentence each. After that, she browsed my application and asked one by one everything I filled up there.

Now here's whats bothering me, In my interview letter, it states there that I should bring the ff: passport,gc, ID and if petitioned by spouse: marriage cert, divorce papers if previously married and proof of citizneship(passport/birth cert). I brought all of these. But she didn't ask for the marriage cert, divorce and passport. She just looked at the one I submitted with the application. And by the way she's pretty nice to talk to, like I said accomodating with stories I share with her, but when it comes to asking me questions, her smile just vanishes and looks me straight in the eye like an eagle. haha Anyway, so she didn't ask for these docs, BUT, she did ask me if I brought anything that would prove that we're residing together in one house. So I said, sorry, no, then I started checking my bag and folders if I have any. I just told her, I have mail in the house if she wants. And then she just made me sign 2-3 forms I think, I remember one of the forms, coz she asked me if that's how I want my name to be written. Then she just told me to wait for something in the mail. No congratulations or anything.

So I asked her when will I be having my oath taking so I'd know if I'll be able to spend xmas with my wife in manila, because she's there for the holidays and church wedding preparations. IO just answered back to just wait for the mail with a straight face. And she didn't even say "ok, you're done" she was just like waiting for me to leave and say goodbye..haha

No wo0nder the Lady ahead of me, had the same Confused/Lost face. I'm like I don't know if I'll be happy because I aced the test or be worried because I need for RFEs.

I don't know if anyone here has experienced this, but I asked some friends who had their interview here in SF, 2 of them was told the same thing "wait for the mail". The other one was congratulated, I think because he had his lawyer with him. Then the last one was congratulated too because she passed the test but wasn't told if she was approved, not until she received the letter in the mail. So now, I'm still crossing my fingers. God Bless us all and Good Lucj to everybody!!! :)

Interview in Seattle this morning 8:10am… APPROVED! Yippee!!! Now just a wait until after December 9, for my three anniversary date to pass and then an Oath …light is at the end of the tunnel.

My husband and I arrived about 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment (in spite of terrible morning rush traffic), checked in and were directed to the second floor waiting room. There were was a full waiting room, but I was called right on time.

Officer was a very nice, but business like woman. She made a light hearted comment on the huge stack of paperwork I was carrying, but it was I just said “when you’re not sure what will be needed, you bring everything” and she chuckled.

She asked to see my GreenCard and Driver’s License, and then had me stand, raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. She then took out the two photo’s I had submitted and had me sign them. She very quickly reviewed the items on my submitted N-400 and added in additional dates that I had been out of the US since submitting the form. She did the quick calculation and said I was still way under the maximum number of days, and quickly moved on. I had listed both my natural children (not in the US) and my husband’s two children (living in the States), so she clarified that the two children in the US were my step-children and then noted that on the form. She then reviewed the notes/changes she had made on the form and asked me to sign that everything was now correct.

She tested me for English reading and writing (even though it is the only language I know) and started asking my questions.. Where is the Statue of Liberty? What are two National holidays? What movement was for racial equality?, Who was the 1st President of the US?, Who is the Governor of WA State? What is a one thing required of a Citizen? Answered all correctly, so that was it!!!

She then asked about all the paperwork I had brought with me. “What do you want to show me?”, I wasn’t sure what she really wanted so I asked her what SHE wanted to see, LOL. My 1st folder was bulging with papers, but everything was in clearly labeled sections and copies all clipped to the originals. She just asked to see the folder and went through a lot of it (but did not take any of the copies). She noted that it was great not to have to pull everything apart to review things. I am further convinced that it really pays to take the time to be super organized …you can never be “too” prepared!

She then said “I have good news and bad news…” I was pretty sure the bad news was that I couldn’t do same day Oath, because the interview was a bit too early, but the phrase “bad news” in this situation did make me a bit nervous. She then said the good news was that I PASSED!, and the bad was she couldn’t approved for another few days and the Oath would be scheduled for later in December. She asked if I had travel plans – I said I didn’t have anything specifically booked at this time, but was hoping to visit my Mom over the holidays. She then gave a printed sheet with information about getting an expedited passport.

That was it! whole interview about 20 minutes…. Back to the waiting room to gather my dear husband, who looked as anxious as a first time father in a maternity hospital waiting room LOL As soon as I smiled at him he knew… and looked very relieved and happy.

I am hopeful that my Oath will be later in December, but I will try not to get my hopes up…I have seen many on these forums that end up waiting fairly long periods of time for their Oath after the interview. I’m just very happy all that is done, and I’m on the last leg.

So Italo was approved on the Dec 6th and we rec'd his Oath letter today. He will have his Oath on Dec 15th....Wow so quick. We are so excited!! Please update us!!! we will post again once he has been given the oath...

Thanks for the reply! Where did you have you interview? "Given the results" meaning after the interview or through the mail?

My interview was in Arizona.

By 'interview results' i mean the N-652 that is handed at the end of the interview. Stated that i passed history/civics, but was not able to make a decision, that needed to look into my file. I had an INFOPASS weeks later, the officer told me that they were doing a 'background check'..He didn't elaborate more about it.

My interview was in Arizona.

By 'interview results' i mean the N-652 that is handed at the end of the interview. Stated that i passed history/civics, but was not able to make a decision, that needed to look into my file. I had an INFOPASS weeks later, the officer told me that they were doing a 'background check'..He didn't elaborate more about it.

Ah ok, yeah they didn't give me any N-652 or paper. they just made me sign 3 papers. I asked a friend who had her interview here. she was also told to wait in the mail and never recalled getting a document from the IO. she's a citizen now. what she got in the mail was her oath schedule. Hopefully everything ok. Good luck to all of us!
