I can relate to how you're feeling. My husband is practically on the North Pole (Canada!), and I'd drop it all to go be with him, but we're in the middle of this now, so there's no turning back, and the goal is get him here. It's hard to be patient when you're life is just at a stand still and you have to wait on a bureaucracy to make things happen. It's not good for anyone, and I'm very, very sorry that my government is apparently NOT in the business of keeping families together.

I totally agree with you. Why is it so difficult to be with someone that you truly love because they are outside of the US? I understand fraudulent marriages/relationships, but it's quite disappointing when someone has a bona fide relationship and the CO still denies the visa. The process is too long and it seems that every segment of the government has a full plate of petitions to review. To me, it should be Our Country's goal to bring families together as quickly as possible and not be treated as a number. I will continue to travel to the other side of the world to be with my husband until we are finally united and he is able to come home.

Wishing you all the best of luck.....

Getting the mail is one of the highlights of my day--always has been. I've known all my carriers over the years, and they have all been the same--highly dedicated people that know they are a really important part of all our lives. Sure, they bring us bills and plenty of junk mail, but they also bring us joy, and tears, and the goodness of keeping us in touch with friends and loved ones.

Email has taken over a lot of the everyday communication, but nothing beats a birthday card or Easter card, or Halloween card from my daughter or 90--year old aunt, and my carrier rings the bell if he has something special--not just for me, but for everyone--he enjoys handing us the cards as much as we enjoy getting them.

This is a job that brings people together more than any electronics ever will--can you think of any other like it--I can't.

You're absolutely right Magical. My husband recently opened a PO Box in Lebanon since they do not have a mailing system as we do in the US. I've been sending him cards through the mail every moment that I can. We talk to each other on a daily basis by phone or by chat, but it's very nice that I can send him a card, include my own handwriting telling him how much I love and miss him. He loves the cards and it adds a more personal touch than an email.

I'm crying reading your response. You are so right, I should have not let myself influenced by people who think otherwise, they let me think that what my husband earns won't support our lives there. Now I am gonna stand proud when Im there and let this world know that he's the man. Thank you, thank you so much. :D

What you should also remember, that it actually isn't a bad paid job either. Its a federal job, so its not as bad with their particular income as maybe your friends have told you. Either way, I got a lot of respect for them and their dedication.

Nothing like receiving a good old fashioned letter from the mailman or a package

:ot: Here is a link to a true story about someone who works at the Post Office who took the time to care. http://www.snopes.com/glurge/abbey.asp

Your husband may not have a glamorous or extremely high paying job but it is a respectable, steady job with decent pay and benefits. You will do well with him :)
