Hi,

We are now still in the administrative processing at NVC which I hope we don't get any RFE. They have received our complete docs and forms (AOS and IV) o Sep 1. I was wondering how long it will take for them to process our case cause I see everyone on VJ has different timeline. My husband is not a rich man, he works for USPS, but I love him for the man he is. Will it be a problem of Affidavit of Support as he only works as a carrier. :( I am not saying this to see my husband less than a man for what he does. I'm just afraid that it will affect and cause a delay in our process. It's been almost 9 months and I still don't get interviewed by consulate yet. We got 3 fatal delayed weeks due to NVC sent email email regarding the payment instruction to the wrong address of my husband's attorney. They did a typo on the email address and it caused us waste 3 weeks of delayed payment. I would appreciate if you could let me know any information that might help for my future process. Wishing everyone here the best for their future lives. Have a great day.

Thank you

As long as he earns above the threshold, his job title has no bearing on his ability to support you.

That's all I can answer to, as I see everyone's processing times are different, so I have no idea how long it might take to process your case. I hope it is quick!

Thanks for your quick response. I'm just getting frustrated here, actually it is not about moving to the States that I want. I just want to be with my husband and if he lives in North Pole, then I'll go there to be with him, even though I hate cold.

Well..I hope everything is going well with your journey too :)

I can relate to how you're feeling. My husband is practically on the North Pole (Canada!), and I'd drop it all to go be with him, but we're in the middle of this now, so there's no turning back, and the goal is get him here. It's hard to be patient when you're life is just at a stand still and you have to wait on a bureaucracy to make things happen. It's not good for anyone, and I'm very, very sorry that my government is apparently NOT in the business of keeping families together.

I know, I shouldnot have posted this topic. It's just money rules in every aspects of live, in any countries. Love is something rare to find in this world. All I want is just a real family with my husband under the same roof, not apart by distance. :crying:

Getting thru NVC is just like getting thru the embassy.. each case is different. We got thru USCIS (@4 months) and NVC (@4 weeks) pretty quickly all without any RFE but hit ap when we got to the embassy and still waiting for it to conclude... going on 3 months soon.

NVC time once your documents are uploaded in the system and they are verified/if they don't hve any RFE can conclude pretty quickly. And once its complete it usually takes a couple of weeks to hear about an interview date which is usually about 1-2 months out depending upon how busy the embassy is at that time.

Hopefully you will finish soon with an interview date for OCt or November. His career is fine... they don't look at the actual career ... if they did there would be plenty that have simple careers that they wouldnt let pass for the I864

they look to see if he makes enough money and he pays taxes.

Good luck

Yes you are right, I am not looking for easy life nor a US citizenship as I work and earn well in my own country. My husband always tell me to be patient and he also says that people working for the government are slow. Maybe he's right, I have put lots of pressure on him and become so annoying. I think I will apologize to him later when we meet on skype. Anyway, thanks :D

Thanks, reading your response and other's here have made me feel relaxed. I always worry about small things. I hope I can be with my husband before thanksgiving so I can meet all his families coming from different States of US. We will see :)

Getting the mail is one of the highlights of my day--always has been. I've known all my carriers over the years, and they have all been the same--highly dedicated people that know they are a really important part of all our lives. Sure, they bring us bills and plenty of junk mail, but they also bring us joy, and tears, and the goodness of keeping us in touch with friends and loved ones.

Email has taken over a lot of the everyday communication, but nothing beats a birthday card or Easter card, or Halloween card from my daughter or 90--year old aunt, and my carrier rings the bell if he has something special--not just for me, but for everyone--he enjoys handing us the cards as much as we enjoy getting them.

This is a job that brings people together more than any electronics ever will--can you think of any other like it--I can't.

I'm crying reading your response. You are so right, I should have not let myself influenced by people who think otherwise, they let me think that what my husband earns won't support our lives there. Now I am gonna stand proud when Im there and let this world know that he's the man. Thank you, thank you so much. :D

I think I am one of the few people left that LOVE sending people cards in the mail or letters!! It makes me happy to know they will get something that took me time, energy and a few cents to mail them. I send my husband letters and cards every week to let him know how important he is to me. Having our United States Post Office is a blessing that many countries will never experience. When my husband sends me stuff from Egypt it takes over a month to get to me. When I send him something it takes 6-8 days. We are truly blessed by all the governement post office employees that ensure we get our mail timely and everyday. Communication is one of the most important things in this life and without my mail service I would feel isolated. Emails are nice. But typed words can be misleading and impersonal.

Thank you to all postal workers in USA. I love you all!!
