SATA III SSD's are running for around $200 for a 128GB. You can pick up a Sandy Bridge quad for $180 (dual core for about half that), and a decent board for under $100 that includes SATA III usb's and SATA 6/gb for your h/d's.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I'm guessing your near Coulee Dam. My grandpa worked on that back in the '30's.

Two routers? Yikes.

I think it was two days ago when I had a Windows update. It updated IE and ever since, I am having problems with how things are running.

Not only do I not like the new IE version, my toolbars won't load properly, I am having problems with easy copy+paste operations, websites freeze, enter and backspace keys are not funktioning right (instead of going back one letter, it deletes entire paragraphs),...

First I thought it was my laptop acting up but then I hear hubby cursing at his laptop and when I asked what was wrong, he just said "stupid windows update" and I knew what he was talking about...:crying:

Has anyone else had these kinds of problems after the latest update? Any ideas what I can do now?

See absolutely no one answered your question. Are dealing with a notebook with dedicated hardware and chipsets, plus your keyboard, IDE, video, audio, etc.

Did you check with your notebook manufacturer to learn if they even support Windows7? Only they will have all the drivers you need, and if they don't have them, you are screwed. I hate my wife's Vista HP dv9420us computer and HP in the process. They supported Vista, don't have drivers for neither XP nor Windows7. Microsoft does not write drivers, they are supplied by the hardware vendors. Our only choice with this notebook is either to live with the many problems associated with Vista, or pitch it and buy another.

My stepson has a similar HP notebook, went ahead and installed Windows7 on it, and in the process, crashed his hard drive in the process. Practically all hardware today stores firmware in flashram. That way, the basterds can write sloppy software and correct it at your expense and aggravation. Speculating that Window7 issued some type of command to destroy his firmware. Use to say, can't damage a computer by playing with the keyboard, that is no longer true. If you destroy your firmware, can't even reload it without very specialized equipment, if your computer cannot recognize that drive, you are screwed. Don't know what got into him to attempt an OS upgrade without checking first. But gather he is not the only one.

I have had it with HP and highly recommend you stay away from them, just learned the other day, wifes' battery has a safety recall, her battery has been known to explode. Its registered and they never notified us, just happen to see it on the web. Called them, the recall just expired, only solution was to give them 140 bucks for a safe battery. Asked why we weren't notified about this, we are sorry. You also get into a battle where HP says its MS fault and vice versa, in the meantime, you are screwed.

Hate MS as well, don't even get a full OS when you pay a fortune for the disk. Have to get on the net to get the rest of it where they get your registration number. If you try that on another computer, can't use it, its only licensed for one computer. And you cannot load a new OS unless you have another working computer, need that to get on the net to find solutions to all the problems you are having. This is the problem with only having one software company in this so-called free enterprise country. Gates sure screwed a lot of smaller software companies and put over 4,000 out of business. All it took for him to do that is to have a lot of money to buy out judges.
