I use both about the same to me.

In terms of the UI, they are very similar, now at least. The latest versions of Firefox appear to be heavily influenced by Chrome, in terms of the user interface. Pre-Chrome versions of Firefox were a lot more "busy" than current versions.

Some folks take their browser preference WAAAY too personally. Time to get a life?

I'm not seeing anyone taking anything personally here. Perhaps you should shuffle off to the next thread you plan on hijacking.

No doubt you are an IE user.

Firefox all the way. Chrome sucks. One of the girls at work couldn't handle the new IE (older lady) so I uninstalled the update for her. Super simple here: http://www.sevenforu...all-update.html follow option 2.

Thank you, that was helpful!

I used to use Firefox when it first came out and just didn't like it, maybe I was just to used to IE. And then I never really checked on it anymore or on Chrome. I'll look into it!

I think it was two days ago when I had a Windows update. It updated IE and ever since, I am having problems with how things are running.

Not only do I not like the new IE version, my toolbars won't load properly, I am having problems with easy copy+paste operations, websites freeze, enter and backspace keys are not funktioning right (instead of going back one letter, it deletes entire paragraphs),...

First I thought it was my laptop acting up but then I hear hubby cursing at his laptop and when I asked what was wrong, he just said "stupid windows update" and I knew what he was talking about...:crying:

Has anyone else had these kinds of problems after the latest update? Any ideas what I can do now?

http://www.google.com/chrome <---- DL this nane, and make sure you enable the "Book Marks Bar" on it after you set it up. You can use the "drag feature" to move your book marks around, create folders, etc...

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You can always uninstall the version of IE and go back to the previous version - go to programs, right click uninstall the latest version. I always run one version behind the latest

I uninstalled chrome too. I run IE 9 and I have made it bend to my will

IE is good (comparitively) and the other browsers have their own issues, so dont believe the wildcatters who push linux and firefox

I have spent 6 hours a day on PC's since 1980 and was systems administrator for a small network of 20 users as well as business planner at my last job before I retired. Computers are always a pain but I always end up back with windows and IE

I uninstall everything that is above the minimum required because my broker's interfaces are sometimes delicate. I have scanning/printing/photoshop/macromedia/Outlook 2010 /Excel 2010 and I use open office for word processing. I use IE9

I do have a couple of utilities like 'auto refresh' so my broker's page and banks don't don't time out - and hardware utilities - but otherwise I keep it stripped down to the basics

I do have google earth

I use acronis for partition image backups - its wonderful and my version restores to dissimilar hardware

I like the hardware side too and I have built 10 computers here - cant upgrade fast enough or give the old ones away fast enough ! Two of them are in Tenerife and two in England.

That still doesn't explain why you would dump a decent browser for IE...but oh well.

If your into building computers, look into the Sandy Bridge cpu's that came out last January. They are probably the best chips to come out since the invention of sliced bread. They run cool, use little juice and have terrific benchmarks.

Ta will do... this solid state storage stuff is looking interesting too - so as soon as it snows I may be tempted to get my anti static wrist band on and get building

However, I have a HUGE excel spreadsheet which used to take 15 seconds to save on a fast SATA drive (forever) - but it saves in half a second with excel 2010 which must use an incremental method - so I am muchly chuffed and SS cant beat that to the extent I would pay for it. Fast Disk backups though I bet.

Twice an hour I download all my broker stock and options data and organise it with macros - its tough when the brokers mess with their output formats so that's why I use IE - suspecting that they would be even less compatible with chrome. However, chrome usage is big, so if I ever get IE 10 and it gives me problemas, I might give chrome a shot.
