My mother in-law is coming to spend a few months with me and my wife in US. I was wondering if her visa would let her go on the cruise with us?? Would the visa let her come and go for the 6 months or does it only let her in one time and if she leaves she cant get back in?

What type of US visa does she have? Have you checked to learn if she will need a visa to enter any other country that the cruise will visit?

The visa is only good to enter the USA and depending on the visa it might or might not be a single entry visa. But for sure your mother in law would be subject to the visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens to visit whatever country you might enter.

BTW, no visa requirement countries for UA citizens is a VERY small list.

You should also call the cruise line you are using, they will have very specific rules on who can cruise.

Since you haven't stated what visa your MIL will be traveling on, can we assume a visitor visa since you are focus on 6 months. If she has a single entry visa, she can only come into the US once. If she has a multiple entry visa, then she can enter the US multiple times.

If the cruise is only to US destinations, then your MIL will not have a problem once she enters the US.

If the cruise is international and will visit other countries, then your MIL may have a problem. With a single entry visa, she cannot take an international cruise once she is in the US because she will have no way to get back into the US after the ship leaves port. With a multiple entry visa, she can go on the international cruise. Be sure that she has visas or a waiver to visit other countries - a visitor visa to the US does not mean she can enter Mexico, Canada, etc. She will need to check to see what travel documents she will need for each stop on the cruise.

#1 your MIL has single / multiple entry visa for US.

#2 If she get 6 months and she leaves US on Cruise that time she would have to surrender her I-94 (Assuming you are taking int cruise)

#3 When she enters she will have to go thru same process as she did earlier (most likely should not be a problem as CBP officer can see you were on cruise and returning)

#4 You need to make sure your MIL has visa for all the countries where cruise is going to make a stop.

How are you going to pull this off??? The Bahamas is another country. If your MIL enters the US on her single entry B-2 visa, how is she going return to the US after her international Bahamas cruise?
