I called the NVC yesterday and was told to have the original birth certificate! Am I suppose to wait for the RFE in the email before I can mail out? How long do I need to wait for the email? Any shortcut to save time? Thanks!

Yes, you need to wait for the RFE, as it will have another barcode page which you will need to send back with the requested document.

Yes, I received the RFE email in the afternoon and already mailed out the original birth certificate with the bar code sheet!

Now the question is after they received my mail, do they take long time to process it?

Did you sent DS-3020 via e-mail or mail. I sent DS-3020 using the beneficiary's e-mail address since Sept 15. I haven't gotten any reply from NVC for IV bill at all.

It takes a couple of days for NVC to accept the DS-3032. Once they send you the acceptance email, then it will be another few days before the IV bill is invoiced.

Thank you for your respond. You think I should also mail out the DS-3020 or wait for the reply e-mail from NVC.

Don't bother with mailing it. It's a waste of time and money. Just wait until you get the acceptance from NVC.

Once you have a case number, you can send the DS-3032 by email.

For the Philippines, an advance medical can be done and you just need to bring the first letter you get from NVC which contains your case number. You'll of course also need: passport, passport pictures, vaccination record, method of payment.

Thank for your advice. I ready for all of the DS-230 form and I-864 form. I just wait until I can make the payment for IV package and when the PAID status shown up. I will Fed-Ex both of the forms as the same time. I hope my case will be completed by the first week of October if there are no RFE.

I sent the DS-3020 using the VJ email template as soon as I got my case number. I got a response a couple of days later to say that they couldn't amend my details at that point but soon after that I got the DS-3020 email from them. I responded by resending my original email and it was accepted after a couple of days. At that point we could see the invoice on the payment portal but we couldn't select it. A day or so after that we received the invoice by email and at that point we could pay it. Just have to be patient I guess. At least it is only days now and not weeks or months as it has been up to this point!

Up to 20 business days. (/NVC Operator) :bonk: Honestly though, give them at least a week. You'll have CC before you know it. :)

It took exactly a month from our case being received at NVC to getting a case number. So still within normal current times but you can call them every day - we did after the first couple of weeks.

You should be calling a NVC operator once a day. This will be the fastest way to get your case number. Do not skip calling them.
