On another note, did you give them your and your husbands email address?

Thanks, such a relief after all the waiting. Yes, I gave them both of our email addresses and I remembered seeing something on here that I should ask for the IIN number. I'm sure they will give it to you if you call them. I have the choice of agent email ready to send and I will ring to book my medical tomorrow.

My Sister's case approved on 08/09/2011 and haven't receive any case number yet.

She should get it in about a week or so. My petition was approved on 2nd August, my case was received at NVC on 8th and I got my case number today, exactly one month after it arrived at NVC. We have been calling them every day for the last week or so.

How long does it usually take to get the NVC case number, received my Noa1 august 16th.

I think you mean NOA2.

And lately, it's been taking on average a month to get the case number. You should be getting your own case number within the next few weeks. Just keep calling a NVC operator every single day and asking.

Hurrah - we got our case number today!! And the IIN number - no idea what I am supposed to do with that! Going to book my medical tomorrow - had the second dose of the MMR vaccine today so it's good timing. Although when I asked for a printout of my vaccination record I was amazed to see that the vaccines I had at 3 months were on there - that was a loooong time ago!

Grats on getting the case number! The IIN is used to log onto the payment portal!

My Sister's case approved on 08/09/2011 and haven't receive any case number yet. The last email she got responsed from NVC was

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC recently received this petition. The appropriate agent

(applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will receive instructions for the

further processing of this petition within 6 to 8 weeks.

Sincerely,

MJ

National Visa Center

Written Inquiry Unit

Serco Inc., Support Contractor

Is anybody has idea when she could receive her case number!!

P.S. she is IR1 category, sponsored by her US husband.

Like I said in my first response above, it's been taking about a month from NOA2 to case number. Your sister should be getting a case number any day now. Just tell her to keep calling NVC every single day and inquiring.

Ok, I just sent out the last IV packet out!

How long and how do I know if NVC accepts both of my AOS and IV submission?

It usually takes 2-3 weeks for NVC to review packages. Although it can be quicker/longer as it'll always depend on how busy NVC is. But 2-3 weeks is the average time I've noticed.

The way to know if NVC accepts your packages: call, call, and call! Call every single day and ask if either package has been reviewed yet.

You can also call the AVR as the message will change saying your case is closed and that's after both packages have been reviewed and accepted.

Not really possible for England. You should do the medical as soon as possible because I believe for England, the panel physician mails out the medical to the embassy, so you'll want plenty of time for it to get to the embassy on time.

And if I'm also right, since you're in England, you can do an advance medical, meaning you can bring the NVC letter you get (with all the info on it like NVC case number, IIN, etc) and you can book your medical. Not a lot of panel physicians allow this, so I'd suggest taking advantage of it and scheduling the medical asap.

This is what I told my husband :-) how ever he doesn't really want to do 2 trips to London because the fair is about 120 pounds each way.

He is also under the impression that he can get the medical done else where which I have informed him of also that he is incorrect about that.

Tell him that unfortunately, there's some costs with this immigration process. And unless he wants to mess things up royally, he's going to have to make two trips to London.

And if he goes anywhere except the panel physician, the embassy is just gonna refuse the medical results and give him a 221g for the medical in which they won't approve the visa until a valid medical is done.

Hi Donnison. Show him this from that same medical information sheet:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I go to a different medical facility or to my own doctor? Unfortunately no. Only Knightsbridge Doctors’ medical practitioners have been authorized to conduct medical examinations on behalf of the U.S. Government.

What happens after the medical examination? In most cases, the medical results will be sent to the Embassy four working days after your appointment, in plenty of time for your visa interview.

I just got off the phone with the NVC operator couple minutes ago. I was told the case just has been entered in the system. I exchanged my e-mail and beneficiary 's e-mail to the operator. I received NOA2 on Aug. 3, NVC received the case on Aug. 15. Keep contact with NVC from last week every single day. I am so excited to receive the e-mail from NVC. Hopefully by the beginning of next week I will get the new from NVC.
