Hi everyone! I'm new here in VJ. Little back story: Our petition got approved last July 28, NVC received our case August 8, assigned us our case number September 8, so I guess I do belong in this thread :)

I wanna inquire something bothering me guys and gals! :(

We submitted our AOS & IV packets and was received by NVC last September 26. October 3, we received an email (checklist cover letter). It stated that the AOS line 25 in my hubby's form doesn't corresponds to his IRS and W2s. Hubby passed two W2s for year 2010 (he had two employers but not on the same time). The sum of the two 2Ws is equal to the amount stated in his IRS which in turn the amount he wrote on the AOS line 25. And now, the checklist is asking for a new completed and corrected form. Is its possible that the NVC overlooked that he had two W2s?

Yes, it's possible they overlooked it. But you're sure he entered the correct amount for line 25? If he filed a 1040, he put the total income or if he filed a 1040EZ he put the gross income? Sometimes, it's not just the sum on the W2s, depending on your job. It fluctuates a bit. I know my husband's income on the IRS transcripts were different than just the sum of his W2s, especially when he was a student.

Anyways, if he did put the correct amount, you can try requesting for a supervisor and asking them if they can review it again.

I did, Allegra, today. But it was after business hours. I sent an e-mail from my wife's e-mail box asking (by the way) how long does it take to get IV invoiced once DS-261 (DS-3032) gets accepted. Will see, what happens after they get it.

And it's been a week since they got that DS-261 form, and no news. Just got yesterday e-mail about my I-864 packet: nothing special, just general wording "...10-20 business days for your I-864 processing..." and bla-bla-bla.

Oh good. I wrote on Saturday and they only responded at 3pm their time on Monday, so don't worry if they don't get to you RIGHT away. Prob tomorrow morning or something. Sorry for your looooong wait. Hope it goes faster from now.

If you're 100% sure you sent an original birth certificate, then call up an operator and ask to speak with a supervisor. They'll be able to pull your package and review it themselves. This might take a couple of days though. Haven't seen any recent supervisor reviews, so I can't really tell you how long it'd take, but I'd suspect it'd be a few days. Which might be faster than getting another birth certificate and sending it in again and waiting for it to get to an officer's desk. This is all my opinion though :)

My husband called the NVC yesterday and told them the birth certificate is there. They said they would "send it on for review". So it seems like there is two stages here, an initial review just make sure all the papers are there and then another more thorough one? Does that make sense? Will we get another RFE if the second reviewer can't find the birth certificate? I'm confused again :)

As for our payment, it still shows paid but the money has not been taken from the the account. The operator said it says paid so it's ok, so I have no idea what's going on there. We're trying to tell the NVC to take our money, but they wont :)

Thanks for any advice!

OMG!!!! It worked!! You are a genius. I sent them an email asking about the IV bill and asking them to allow me to pay it and 22 minutes later an email was sent and now the bill is paid.

I wanna give you a big hug!! Thanks Allegra.

This is what I got from the NVC:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received documentation for this case. Please allow at least 20 business days for the documents to be reviewed.

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032".

Standard reply from the NVC. Still I have no clue when will the IV bill be invoiced.

Should I send them another e-mail politely asking about possibility to pay IV bill now?

I paid the IV bill yesterday at almost 4pm. They have sent me an email asking for payment today and the AVR says to pay bill. LOL

My bank already released the money and the NVC website shows it is PAID. I do not know what to make of this system.

I want to thank everyone here that has helped me so much during this process. I am so relieved right now that my papers are all sent and just waiting for NVC review. Of course, I do not think I will get an RFE but if it happens you all have been so helpful that I am sure I will know what to do. And if I cannot figure it out then I will just ask ANOTHER question. LOL

Good luck to us all.

Please pray that Cairo fixes their process and we no longer have to wait 6 months for an interview.

I believe it will now go back to the 3 month wait like it used to be (I am hoping it changes to 6-8 week wait!!)

For the month of sept I seen over 300 Diversity Lottery interviews so that left less then 300 interviews for Fiance, Spouse, children, tourist, Business and whatever else visa are for.

In October I only see 30 Egyptian DV interviews... I think this is a good sign that my prayers will be answered. I hope.

I am sure I will keep you all posted. I am looking forward to CC by the 14th.

Monday is a holiday in USA so they will not work that day (at least I do not think they will)

I am praying for CC wed morning but I will give them to Friday. LOL

I am so impatient

Thanks to all

My husband called the NVC yesterday and told them the birth certificate is there. They said they would "send it on for review". So it seems like there is two stages here, an initial review just make sure all the papers are there and then another more thorough one? Does that make sense? Will we get another RFE if the second reviewer can't find the birth certificate? I'm confused again :)

As for our payment, it still shows paid but the money has not been taken from the the account. The operator said it says paid so it's ok, so I have no idea what's going on there. We're trying to tell the NVC to take our money, but they wont :)

Thanks for any advice!

Hmm, as far as I knew, only one officer reviews the package. But since you talked to an operator, it sounds like you might be getting a supervisor review, aka another set of eyes. Hopefully they'll review it, see the birth certificate, and accept the package :)

Wow, you actually got an email saying they got your DS-261? That must be new as I never got the above email. I'd like to update my wiki with this. Can you PM me the entire email you received? As well as the date you submitted the DS-261 and the date you received the above email? Id' greatly appreciate it! :)

Yup, Monday (Columbus Day) is a federal holiday, so NVC will be closed. To see federal holidays, check here: http://www.opm.gov/operating_status_schedules/fedhol/2011.asp
