Haha, I don't drink :P But I'll take chocolate :D Or money to pay for school :P

But I honestly love helping everyone out here! It feels great to know that I'm helping others out, reassuring them, etc.

Just got this email from the NVC yesterday: "1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case."

We sent the IV papers earlier this week and according to our tracking info it was delivered to the NVC yesterday. So is this a false RFE then? Did we get it because they haven't had time to put the IV papers into their system yet?

The same email also said "We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa". Does that mean they are done reviewing our AOS papers and that they have accepted it?

Thanks for any advice :)

Yup, if you've sent the IV package already, then that's the false RFE.

And I believe, yes, that they've reviewed and accepted your AOS package. Just call on Monday and confirm with an operator.

Saylin, talking about AOS, how long (in average) does it take for NVC to review and approve (assuming no RFEs)it?

Thank you.

Lately, it's been taking like a week to review packages. NVC has really sped up on that aspect.

Our AOS package was reviewed in less than a week and our case was completed one business day after the IV package was delivered!

Good news, thank you ! So, if I get my AOS approved, my IV gets invoiced/paid this coming week and send my DS-260 package (with pre-filled DS-260 on-line), there's a hope that I'd hear something about interview date by the end of October .

Most definitely! And your interview would probably be sometime in December, depending when you get your case complete.

OK, I'm an idiot. I input a wrong number for my account number while paying the AOS bill. I know this because I had my account number on a sticky note on my computer, I copied/pasted and when I verified the info from my checkbook, there was one number off. Ugh. What can I do to fix this? Can I send a check with both fees?

On the site it says I can, but I only have the invoice for the AOS right now.

Do they send you an email telling you that your AOS or IV packages were approved? How do you know when that part is completed? I have sent in both packages (e-filing) and both fees are paid. after I emailed the scanned documentation, I got a checklist RFE for the stuff (IV) I just sent in. I think that is a false RFE, but that is the only thing I have received, except for an RFE on my AOS (because I forgot to write in a number on line 18), which has been responded to. Thoughts?

As far as I know, no, NVC doesn't send you an email when they accept a package. You will get a case complete email though once everything's accepted. If you want to know if a package has been accepted, call an operator!
