The payment portal works on weekends. Since you just received your NVC case number and IIN today, it might be a day or two before you can sign in to pay. For us, it was 2 days between getting our case number and being able to sign into the payment portal. The invoice came on a Saturday and we paid it the same day!

Keep trying, hope they take your money soon.

Hey Saylin,

We are currently waiting on an interview date and I have booked my flight for November 24th... (Yep, I'm always optimistic)!!

My question is this: How likely do you think it would be that I'm denied entry if I don't get an interview date before November but still want to use the purchased ticket for some time with my husband? What kind of proof (apart from my interview) do you think I'd need that I intend to return to the UK?

Praying hard!!

Nadiya & Bryan

Just bring everything you can to show proof of ties to your country. If you have an interview letter at that time, bring that. As well as a lease, a letter from your employer when you're expected back, etc. Make sure you pack very lightly (so as not arouse their suspicions you're moving).

But instead of thinking about that, just stay positive and KNOW your interview will be before Nov. 24 and you'll have your visa in hand to move ;)

i have a question..

i checked my status online and it said post decision activity and I was aporoved. i called NVC but they told me to wait for the letter. Do I really need to wait for the letter of approval before calling them? What i have read in here, they will just ask about the receipt number, isn't it?

Nope, you don't need the letter. NVC wouldn't really know WHEN you got your letter. All you need is the USCIS receipt number. Although, with the recent backlog at NVC, you'll have your letter before you get your case number. But you can definitely start calling next week to see if a case number has been assigned.

If you call them at 630 am you might get a guy named Gary....he needs some classes on customer relations. He has a vile attitude and always said call back in 4-6 weeks. lol I always called him by name each morning thinking he might become nicer...he did not

Ya, I can't remember now what the name of the guy I got, but he told me to stop calling and asking about an interview date. I had called earlier around 4pm and it was a few minutes till midnight, and I just felt like calling again. That's when he blew up at me telling me that if there was nothing a few hours before, then there wasn't going to be anything new. I just politely said goodbye, and continued my daily calling again the next day. No rude guy was gonna stop me from calling daily to get my interview date no0pb.gif

So my IV bill is on the payment portal as well. Doesn't seem like I can pay it yet though. Is this something where you wait for the invoice again?

Just got this email from the NVC yesterday: "1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case."

We sent the IV papers earlier this week and according to our tracking info it was delivered to the NVC yesterday. So is this a false RFE then? Did we get it because they haven't had time to put the IV papers into their system yet?

The same email also said "We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa". Does that mean they are done reviewing our AOS papers and that they have accepted it?

Thanks for any advice :)

We got the same email. For us, it was a false RFE. When we called NVC, the operator said that our AOS packet was reviewed and found to be complete, but they are still waiting for our IV packet (which was also already delivered at that point). Enjoy your weekend and call them on Monday to confirm it with an operator. :)
