What's scary is if the report that a lot of our applications have been put in storage, who knows when they'll bother to pull them back out and work on them?

The sad thing is that five months is the average, so there's really no telling which ones of us will fall at the far ends of the range. If some are being approved within a month and most aren't being approved neatly within the 5 months then some must be waiting 6, 7, 8 months... : p

I really pray they start wiping the dust off of our cases and carrying them to the correct places. I am sick and tired of collecting dust at a musty old warehouse. Why did they do this to all of us anyway? How will putting us in there even help?

Well, atleast Insha'Allah we will be together for 3 weeks in 6 days honey. I am very sad that I wont be at the interview for you though. Oh, well I doubt it matters much as ISL anyway. Praying for everyone here!

The good news, such as it is, is that for most people this is the longest part of the process with the next few steps usually going faster. Of course, we all know these things can change.

In case anyone was wondering, asking for an inquiry from your congressperson is a total waste of time if you're under 5 months. USCIS doesn't even lay their hands on your file when they respond to the inquiry. They'll simply tell you that you're still within normal processing times, and my congresswoman's office said they won't take another request from me for another 60-90 days.
