I suggest you contact your Senator or Representative. I contacted my Senator after my 5 moth mark and on December 15th his office (with his signature) sent me a letter saying that they would look into it. On December 20th we were approved!

Remember... they are working for US! They are our Senators/Representatives.... Use them!

My heart aches reading all these posts.

I have a problem with that, my congressman is Dr. Phil Roe, whom I did not vote for. I do not believe in his opinions and policies, especially about immigration.

They are not processing VWP countries quickly or I wouldn't be sitting here almost seven months after my NOA1 wondering what is going on.

They say we are with in current processing times and there is nothing that can be done right now, but sit here and wait. It's pointless to tell them their web site says five months... They're stuck on June 16th.

I had the same response from my Congressman's Immigration Liason officer. Maybe the difference for those that have experienced positive results from contacting their Congressman is that the Congressman's office sends a letter instead of just a phone call to USCIS.

In my case I contacted my Congressman a week ago and they told me to let them know if I haven't received a reply by the middle of February. My NOA1 date is 7/27. My guess is they came up with the mid Feburary date based on being told that CSC is working June 16 petitions. Problem with that is that they have been reporting that date for at least a month now.

That is ridiculous. I guess the way to go is to find some way to expedite it. Don't know how and have no idea how long this will take. It's so frustrating. I've tried going through all the automated options and only find my status (which hasn't changed), and told to visit the gov't website...how do you get to the June 16th date being processed via phone?

Little off topic but not I guess...any advice on how long to wait to submit a service request? I'm thinking of sending a privacy act release form to my state senate tomorrow, but wasn't sure when to submit a service request to the USCIS. Thanks for any suggestions!

The answer to both of your questions is the same. When you call the number and go through the automated process, after it reads you the useless status information it will give at least three options. One of them, number three I believe, is to report a problem. Hit that. You'll be taken to an operator who's primary job is to read you the same information the website has and the automated system has. No kidding, they will not admit to having any additional information.

At that point you're basically down to pleading with them to submit a service request. The reason is this: As long as the official processing date is before your NOA1 date, they won't submit a service request no matter how long it has actually been. They'll go through the motions, talk about looking up information... and then say "We're sorry sir/madam, as they are currently processing petitions from 16June you're within normal processing time. As such we're unable to put in a service request at this time. Please, call back within <some period of time>".

I had one conversation with them that went like this:

"Can I put in a service request to find out what is taking so long?"

"Sorry sir, you're within normal processing time"

"The processing time that CSC can define as whatever they want?"

"Yeah...."

"And you can't put in a service request or gather any additional information until that 16June date moves?"

"That's correct."

"And there is no way to get them to move it?"

"No... <Gives various lies and BS about volumes and how busy they are and how many petitions they must have received on that day>"

"They've been giving that day now for three months... You really want me to believe that they've been working on a single day's worth of petitions for three months?"

"<more BS>"

"Can I speak to a supervisor?"

<transfer>

<repeat all the lies and BS above>

"So there is nothing at all you can do for me?"

"Sorry sir."

<Fighting an urge to call them a waste of space and money>

That said, calling costs you nothing but time and frustration. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky.

On the subject of expediting:

Are you or your SO in the military and about to be deployed?

Will the USC suffer severe financial hardship if the expedite isn't granted?

If the answer is no, then you won't get an expedite. You can try anyway, costs nothing, but don't be shocked when they summarily say no. I wish I had something more hopeful to say. Unfortunately, I'm out of hope and am fully convinced none of us will be getting out of USCIS any time soon. :crying::clock::(

what if those of us condemned to the CSC were to band together and coordinate an email/telephone blitz to USCIS headquarters to demand a response as to why the processing date of June 16th, has been stagnated for several months now? Especially since the USCIS is standing by their stated CSC 5 month processing times on their website. The recent comments here show their active file processing date has not moved at CSC for months, then it seems reasonable that someone of higher authority needs to become engaged in identifying the problem and letting us poor serfs know what is going on. If they won't kick some tails to break up the log jam itself.

I doubt if individually any one person's inquiry would generate enough attention or heat to get any type of inquiry or pressure from on top to the CSC to get their act together, but if the power of VJ were to be channeled in that manner with the sheer number of actual active CSC petitioners there are on this board it might be beneficial.

Just a thought?

I'm uncertain this would have any impact beyond making wait times longer to talk to someone. That said, I'm also not aware of a downside. As an aside, I'm planning on calling my Representative and Senator and such today as well.

I really don't think calling will help. Only thing that will help is people writing to their congressmen and representatives - they're the ones that will pressure USC to get their #### together to serve their constituents. Might help to also mention in your letters to your representatives that others are also sharing this unfair wait period all around the country - and that Washington needs to do more to expand or restructure the current process of the Service Centers.

We need to stop being lazy and bitching on this forum and actually write letters to our government reps.
