Lame. I was hoping you guys would have better luck than we did. :(

Tomorrow is five calendar months. Wanna take bets on whether they'll actually put in a service request or whether they'll give me another weak excuse like when I tried to call after 150 days?

No bets. The real thing to bet on is whether or not a service request results in anything more than "Ah, yes, we have a file".

The answer to both of your questions is the same. When you call the number and go through the automated process, after it reads you the useless status information it will give at least three options.

122 days... And all is quiet on the Western Front...

I was looking at Igor's list earlier, for what it is worth, and there appears to have been pretty much no movement out of CSC since June... (aside from a few lucky people every month thereafter)

When our case was routed to CSC in early Aug, we were told we were lucky since CSC is 'fast'. Lol

Are other centers as bad as CSC in last few months? It sucks, doesn't it?

Your profile says VSC, is that correct?

As to the others, it does tend to switch around from time to time.

how do you guys know when it gets touched? is this via email?

You can see it by creating an online account with USCIS. When you sign in, there is a column that says "last updated," when that date changes, the file has been "touched."

A word on touches, they don't mean anything. It can be something as simple as moving the file from one shelf to another. Rarely does the date change, sometimes you won't even see a "touch." The only thing you accomplish by checking for touches is driving yourself crazy.

This whole process is driving me crazy!

Okay, I just had a potentially optimistic thought, and I need to see what you all think. Is this a realistic assumption or have I been pressing "refresh" on the USCIS website for too long:

We all know CSC is practically at a standstill; nothing is being sent to NVC. BUT! NVC and our respective embassies seem to be still working on the many applications that were ahead of us. So since there are barely any new apps being added to those piles, they should be shrinking, right? That means that even as we wait, seemingly endlessly, at CSC, the line in front of us at NVC and the consulates is getting shorter...so maybe, just maybe, we'll get through those parts of the process *faster* than usual? Amiright?

9/9/11 - Check cashed .... and the wait Begin

2/10/12 - NOA2...no whammies, pleaase, email only, no txt

2/12/12 - mother in law past.... She was an angel

2/24/12 :Paid AOS fee and DS3032 sent by email (auto response received immediately)

2/27/12: AOS fee PAID on payment portal, Fee was withdrawn from Bank Account. So,is PAID :-)

2/27/12: mailed AOS (USPS Express mail) & was told the NVC accepted the Choice of Agent but havent heard or saw anything different

2/27/12: Choice of agent accepted

2/28/12: IV fee invoice received by email

2/28/12: Paid IV fee

2/29/12: IV fee PAID on payment portal

2/29/12: IV package sent

3/12/12: IV package reviewed and accepted. AOS package not Recv'd

3/14/12: Case complete!

4/06/12 : Interview Date Scheduled for 05/31/12!

4/09/12: Case file sent to Dakar

5/18/12: medical

5/31/12: interview , ap asking for joint sponsor

6/12/12: APPROVED!!!!

6/14/12 : pick up visa!!!

I mailed back my documents for an expected RFE last weekend. They arrived at CSC on Monday. I got the approval notice today (wednesday). They are doing something there at CSC.
