I am a little confused when you first start out with your process you have to fill out the form with all your information and send it to uscis for approval. When your petition is approve it is sent to the NVC for further processing however this is where my question comes in from my research on vj in some previous post its said that at the NVC stage they do additinal background checks based on the information subitted on the ds-230, but its the same info that was sent on the first form to the uscis at the begining on the process.Could someone clearify what exactly they do as far as the NVC stage when it comes to the checks its just a little unclear to me Thank you in advance my fellow vjers...

CR1 visa beneficiaries are required to have police certificate/police record/whatever you want to call it, done and submitted with the DS-230 before a visa can be issued.

And no, its not the same form. Your USCIS info that was approved done adn gone.

At the NVC, you have to deal with their requirements and 'security checks" or background check must be completed.

Now how to obtain the police record is another thing....

In addition, read the info SUS posted.

Thank you guys for the replies tell me if this is correct when you get fingerprinted at the embassy at the time of interview is that to ensure you are the right person when you arrive at poe or for something else?????

And you will be fingerprinted again at POE !! It is all to be sure they know who you are, and also to build a data base in case you are a problem down the road.

But not to worry. I have worked in stock brokerage companies for years, and every single time you change jobs on Wall Street, you get fingerprinted again for the same reasons--are you a bad actor and are you who you say you are....I guess I'm OK since they haven't hauled me in after all these years !!
