Does anyone know how long it takes for NVC to send your completed petition to the nearest consulate near you? Well you see, the nearest US consulate to me is Kingston, Jamaica. My NVC case was completed over a week ago but they haven't sent the case to the US embassy in my home country as yet... So if you and I have the same consulate and have been through or is going through this process (visa interview) please respond. Also, how long did it take for NVC to send your case to the US consulate in your home country?

Still waiting....I got my CC on the 19th of August. I have no idea how long it takes for Jamaica but they do have to issue you an interview date first and then they ship off your paperwork to the embassy. Hopefully you get your interview date soon!

Before sending the case abroad, NVC has to first schedule an interview date. Only then will your case be mailed to the embassy/consulate.

The September interviews for Bogota last month started going out on August 1st (at least I know of people who were informed starting on the first).. For some reason I was thinking Kingston was backed up and there was a several month wait but looking at the timeline I am totally wrong. There are no October dates set yet for Kingston but judging from the past couple of months you don't have long to wait at all..

Did you call NVC to find out if it has been sent yet and get your NVC#?

Once they email your interview date they will send it. You should get the email in about a week. Someone just got their interview for Kingston for Oct 14, 2011. Hope you get yours soon.

The OP is not a K1 visa applicant. OP goes through NVC sending packages first, then the case gets sent after an interview date has been assigned.

No, no guys. I got my interview dates already. It's is October 3, 2011. My problem is that my case has NOT been shipped out to the embassy in my home country. So I was simply wondering how long it takes for them to ship it off after notifying the applicant of the completion of the case.

Shipping off the case has nothing to do with completion of the case. It's got to do with the interview date being scheduled. When did you get your interview date?
