Oh come on. It's not bullshit, that's the ultimate sport right there! Moving in a plane shooting another moving object! That's pure sport!

What's wrong with #3? If it's concealed in your car, then no one should know about it anyway.

So every time someone gets fired in Texas, everyone is going to walk out to their cars to make sure that the terminated employee doesn't come back?

As far as shooting hogs from the air, this has more to do with the goal of reducing this growing plague of wild hogs... than providing an new style of hunting.

I understand the rationale behind the law, I just don't agree with allowing animals to be shot from a helicopter/airplane. They could have opened up hunting season on them year round and had the same effect.

... it's fun!

Have you ever actually fired a gun?

You don't want to know what we call Texans who move out here.....

I don't like #1 and #3. Shooting an animal from a plane/helicopter isn't hunting, thats just bullsh!t. The reason they tax sin products is because they are easier to tax. Much easier to rally support, even from conservatives on something they frown upon, and sin products are more inelastic than any other. Raise the price on beer by $2 a case, and we'll complain for a month or two, but still buy the beer.

maybe we should humanely capture the feral hogs and turn them loose in your neighborhood and local farms. then you can set the restrictions.

note the term "feral" ... also do a little research and you just might learn that texas has a huge population of this animal which is causing a bit of a problem.

hunting from a helicopter ... it's more like rodent control or crop protection turned into a money making business. the feral hog population is in serious need of management ... in other words ... it's time the hogs got RIF'd or downsized.

A plague of wild hogs? What the heck, seriously?

search engines ... they are warmed up and ready to race ..

texas has an estimated 2 million feral hogs (Sus scrofa), about 50 percent of all the feral hogs in the U.S. these hogs can be found in nearly every texas county. the population and range of feral hogs have expanded dramatically because they are extremely adaptable animals with a high reproductive rate. population control problems were created by relocation (catch/ relocation/ release), disease control in domestic animals, management of range lands, and habitat improvements made for livestock and wildlife have helped the hog population to grow (no thinning of the heard). hogs are prized by hunters and despised by landowners who have their lands/ crops/ property destroyed.

I see, so legal gun owners are going to just shoot up the place because they got fired?

Yup, this happens each and every day.

You'd be surprised how many people carry guns in their glove box.
