Last thought. I watched a documentary about an Amish family which left their community after secretly attending a more traditional church. They were given a house by other ex-Amish and had to pay rent for it. The husband could not find work, so he prayed and prayed, and still no work. As the due date for rent came closer he stopped searching for work all together and prayed some more. Eventually the date passed and he had to work. That was the day I truly lost all faith in those who are so immersed in this "God" fellow.

I prayed and prayed and got a great job :star: Viola, your faith is restored! :star:

But, like I said earlier, even with faith you still gotz to getz of yer azz and makez an effort! :innocent:

Blessings - :innocent:

Yeah, AIDS sorts of puts the lights out on the perfect creator theory.

Are you back to confusing a perfect God with a fallen world?

There was never any expectation of "heaven on earth" at this juncture... except by those who don't believe... which is kinda odd if you think about it.. :P

Sorry Danno but the Bible is quite clear on just how perfect God is. Perfect beings can't create imperfection.

The fallen earth mumbo jumbo is to keep the pews full and the offering basket more so.

If you don't believe in a higher conciousness or God, then I agree with your sentiments that there is no possibility of a fallen world.

For believers though, its rather evident.

Agreed to a point. However history shows again and again that each generation of mankind believes the next generation is set to ruin the world. The "end" is always near yet to date it never comes.

Often times societies go through huge transformations and it can seem like the end of "their world" has come.... and infact it has.

But if you are suggesting each generation believes the return of Christ is due any moment, I don't believe that has been the case at all... though it has happened when people see great moral collapse around them.

Here we are in a nuclear age and we still seldom here of widespread predictions among believers that they "end is here".
