K3 changed to CR1

Bryan and I started on the K3 visa on the advice of my sister. We have now got to the NOA2 stage and recently Bryan sent an e-mail to the NVC about me completing the process in the US as I was due to visit him soon, but I have since decided to stay put and complete the process. (They said no by the way, as I guessed they would).

I am now confused as to what to do (if anything) after noticing that they have listed our preference category as CR1. Can anyone explain what this now means for us?

K-3 is closed at the NVC.

You will be going CR-1 not K-3. Read up on CR-1 its a MUCH better choice over K-3 anyways!

The NVC received both the I-130 and the I-129F petition at the same time, per their policy, the I-129F for K3 was administratively closed leaving only the I-130 for CR-1 active.

September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
