Here is just a recap of my adventure so far!

1.) Supposed to leave for Montreal at 6am but only left at 4pm (30/08/2011)

2.) 5 out of the 9 hours of driving was in Heavy rain, Thunder and Lightning!

3.) Got stuck in traffic for 40 mins only 10 minutes away from my sisters house! Really Montreal... Road construction at 11pm at night??? Guh!!

4.) Got to my Sister's at 12am and stayed up and talked to her until 1am!!

5.) Woke up at 5am after only 4 hours of sleep ... ughh! Ubber tired right now!

6.) Made it to my Medical appointment at 6:45, I really recommend a GPS it made finding the Medisys Building really easy!

7.) Medical appointment went GREAT!!!

Appointment was at 7:30am but since I got to the office at 6:45 the Dr. took me earlier, around 5 after 7. The Dr, told me to take off just my top and leave my bra on. He handed me a gown to put on and checked my blood pressure, ears, eyes, throat, and got me to take beep breaths as he checked with the stethoscope. I was then told to lay down, he checked my stomach and that was it with the Dr... During the 10 min exam he asked me if I had ever had chicken pox... etc, pretty much what was on the check list I first completed when I got there... but that was it... so fast and painless maybe 10mins at most!! The Dr. was very polite and so friendly! After the exam I was instructed to go back to the waiting room and wait for my name to be called again... The waiting room is where I spent most of my time. There were a lot of people that arrived after me and the waiting room filled up very fast. About 30-40 mins past and I was told to go to another room with stalls (like in a washroom) where I was instructed to take off my shirt and bra and put on another gown and keep the door closed until my name was called. When my name was called I followed a very nice lady who took my x-ray, that too was fast and easy about 15 mins... when it was done she told me to go back to the stall change and take a red card to the desk and wait again for my name to be called. At this point I found it to be a very long waited about and hour!! When my name was called, I followed another really nice lady who checked my vision, took my height and weight and some blood which took about 5 mins. Once this was done I was told to go to the waiting room and my name would be called to go to the desk. When my name was called (about 2 mins later) I was asked if I had my exam, she then told me the cost and when to pick up my results. She also gave me a number to call before going to pick up my results to make sure they were ready!! That is pretty much it, the waiting was a little long but that's to be expected :o)...

8.) Had to pay $16 for less than 3 hours of parking!! Crazy!!

But it was all worth it... Next step INTERVIEW!! EEeekk!

I'm really glad to hear it went well!!! I know you were a little hesitant about the whole medical exam thing the other day!

One more step closer to being with your fiance :)

Yes I was extremely nervous! And I asked both the Dr. and the nurse about my weight concerns and they both said that it shouldn't effect anything :)... So I guess like everyone said there is nothing to be nervous about... hahaha although now i'm nervous about the interview.. just want to make sure I have everything :)

No you don't have to get it done in Montreal but like inky said your only other options are Toronto or Vancouver! I'm from New Brunswick so Montreal was my closest option. When I called Medisys, I was asked when my interview date was and she suggested a date that would be the closest to my interview so that I wouldn't have to make two trips to Montreal (keeping in mind that it takes 2-3 business for results)... I left new brunswick the day before my Medical (30/08/2011)and will be leaving the day after my Interview (08/09/2011)! I'm very lucky that my sister lives here or it would have been a lot of $$$$ wasted on a hotel!!

Yes good luck to you on your entire trip, Can't wait to hear how your interview goes. My fiance lives in Windsor, so he'll probably go to Toronto for the medical and make a separate trip for the interview, as Montreal is closest interview spot, but very quite a hall from Windsor.
