Despite being asked by convention leaders to appear as state governor and not a presidential candidate, Gov. Rick Perry endorsed an aggressive foreign policy doctrine, including support for the concept of pre-emptive strikes, in his welcoming remarks Monday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention.

...

“It's a dangerous world that we live in today,” Perry said. “As the 10th anniversary of the attacks of 9-11 approach, we must renew our commitment to taking the fight to the enemy, wherever they are, before they strike at home.”

...

In his book “Fed Up!” Perry identifies a number of countries and issues that “require our attention and investment in defense capabilities.” His list includes China, Russia, India and “leftists in Latin America,” such as Venezuela's Hugo Chávez, in addition to the usual list of rogue states, including North Korea and Iran.

India would just roll over and accept its new overlords. Half the country wants to be here anyway. What easier way to emigrate than as a colonial?

Yeah, I think the sentiment is more for a new isolationism among the terrorist tea party'ers, but Perry wants to establish his credentials as a potential player on the world stage.

link unrelated to my post, but on subject, sorta:

Not in "flyover country". Nobody that matters lives there. There are huge chunks of Utah and Nevada, where you can swing a dead cat, and not hit anybody. :star:

Behind the targets at my shooting range, there is two thousand miles of nothing but RWNJ's - Idaho/Montana/Wyoming/Dakota etc until you get to Chicago

The advantage is that I can fire my AR-15 like a Libyan rebel on acid and it can only hit coyotes and rattlesnakes and broncos and RWNJ's

Most of the US pop lives near the coast so the chinese should be able to fry most of them pretty easily - look at the population concentrations affected by IRENE. Where I live is about the safest spot so there may just be me and few like-minded people to start up the USA from the ashes.

I think the other 49 states should join with china/russia/india/UK/France/Israel/pakistan/Iran in making a preemptive strike on texas if Perry doesn't carry out his threat/promise to secede.

They should certainly do it before he signs Bernanke's death warrant for treason.. probably at the stage when he 'gets ugly' with the Fed Chairman, the countries need to dust off their nukes.

Birds of a feather and all that. Not to worry, those populations seem to breed just as fast as the the rats that infest their neighborhood.

Some of us folks prefer a little more elbow room, and don't mind a little soil under our fingernails.

I suppose that's true. Although once you substitute swinging dead cats for dropping bombs, it really changes whole context of the statement.

The bolded section is a bad/foolish policy.
