I-130 sent, now what?

Hi everyone, so I received notice via text and email that our package was routed to the California office. What do we do now? I have the IRS statements that I requested online. Should my mother get the same since she will be our co-sponsor? When should I start doing the I-864 Affidavit of Support? What should my husband be doing in Spain to prepare? I see the flowchart, but I would like to know from experience, when and what you all have done after the 1-130 was sent out. Thanks a bunch!!!

Please fill in your timeline and the type of visa you are petitioning for so we can help you better.

Your mother will also need 3 years worth of tax filings. You can start doing the I-864 paperwork now, unless you think your circumstances will change (made redundant, different job etc).

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I would suggest doing rough versions of all the required paper work first. Figure out what you know and what you don't know. Read over the instructions plenty, and make note of anything pertinent to your case. Get any other required documents ordered/ready. Then wait out that NOA2. Once you get it, do your final versions of your paperwork with any revisions made and send it all out once its time.

I can't tell you much about the co-sponsor business because I haven't had to deal with it, but there are many others who can help you out. As for the timeline on the top of the page (the bar right under the VisaJourney.com logo) it says "Immigration Timelines", click that then go to the top left and click "Edit/Add my Entry". From there you can set up and fill in everything. Process times are pretty varied, but the average wait at CSC is 5 months for the I-130, but I've seen some people getting in 3 months or less :blink: Good luck :)

Here's some light reading for the 4 or so months till you're approved! You'll go to the NVC post USCIS so check out these three versions of the NVC's process to give you a VERY complete picture of it. James' shortcuts , Ling Che's shortcuts at NVC , and How to Bring your spouse to US (Loto's shortcut). One of these three should be to your style of learning. Best of luck!!

To have your timeline appear in your posts, you need to add it to your signature.

Click on "Settings" on the top right hand corner of your page, select the "Profile" tab on the page it brings you to, and then on the left hand side of the page select "Change Signature". Type your timeline into the box, save changes and you should be all set. :)
