Hi guys!

I got my SSN a couple weeks ago, along with my green card. Ive applied for a few jobs, so far not even a call back. It is very frustrating. In Canada, even if I didn't GET the job, I always had an interview at least. So its pretty disheartening. I just want at least something part time so I can get out of the house and meet people. Unfortunately, most of my husband's friends are all single men, so I cant even meet wives or girlfriends. I was wondering if anyone has any advice as far as job searching goes? And also, if anyone is from Arkansas. I could really use some girlfriends :)

I hear ya! I felt the same when I first started applying for a job. It was very frustrating, I never had to search for a job back home because I was offered jobs while already working and I just switched jobs twice since I finished school. I felt very disappointed to be looking for a job here and never get a simple call or at least some sort of response acknowledging my application.

The only advice I can give you is do not give up, keep your chin up and keep looking, and eventually the right place will call you :)

Every new begining is hard, but you just have to keep your faith and things get better after a while.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

thats not very comforting lol. Well.. tbh I only am looking for work until we have kids. I do plan on staying home with our little ones once we start growing our family :)
