I would have to say California between Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Not far from the Pacific Ocean and mountains but not in snow country or a large city somewhere on the outskirts would be comfortable. But this state is growing so rapid and it is getting so congested where did everyone come from? If California is so bad I wish they would go elsewhere which I hear some are now doing maybe going to Oregon. I do like Idaho, Wyoming and Montana their beautiful states probably to cold for my wife. We will live here and overseas when I retire .She my wife likes warmer weather.

I would have to say Charlotte NC.. I've lived here for the past 7 years and I love it. You have all 4 seasons.. the city of Charlotte is not like Atlanta and New York where you are constantly stuck in traffic jams. The cost of living is low compared to some of the other "bigger cities". The beach is about 3.5 hours away for the summer sun lovers.. the mountains are about 3 hours away for those who like winter sports.. and depending on the type of work you do, Charlotte is the second largest financial hub next to NYC.. several of the major banks are corporately headquarted here.. and lastly, it is a great place to bring up kids if you have any...

My hubby has lived in 7 states in his life, and he likes Tampa, FL, the best.

We are now in SF Bay Area, and though I like it a lot, it's way too expensive for two people in service industry. This place caters to software developers who make 200,000 a year, not to simple folks like ourselves :(

You can't beat the weather though. No snow! Oh, how I hate snow! :)

No offense but I work in Dallas (and live 30 miles out of it) and I don't like it all. It's flat and boring, nothing but housing estates everywhere. Ridiculous amounts of traffic (and people are not nice on the roads) and nothing to do here ! As soon as my husband finishes school (who is a born n bred texan and proud to be one by the way) we hope to move to a mountain state for the views and the outdoor activities you can do, mountain biking, river rafting etc in the summer, and then winter sports in the winter.

I like the culture of Texas, get-togethers in the summers, tubing down the river.. I just don't like the flatness of it it all. Hill country is definately a prettier part of Texas than here .

I will say that New England is awful! Cold winters, cold, unfriendly, rude people, high taxes and high cost of living. I'm planning my escape from Connecticut in a 2-3 years!

I love Boston, but it is pretty expensive. My SO likes it because, particularly where I live, it's a little European, and it reminds him of home. At first he didn't like it because of that very reason.

I live on Missouri and it's all right. But since I grew up on an island, I miss being so close to the ocean and I'm still adjusting to the weather change, winters are so cold!! :( But overall, people are nice, friendly and polite here. The cost of living is not too high compared to other cities, but real estate is getting higher.

I am the USC and when my fiancé visited, he liked it. And on the Netherlands and here they have nasty winters so he was not shocked about that, he was shocked on how cheap is here compared to NL lol

so far i see the GREATEST PART OF USA is CALIFORNIA NEVADA PART ,like sierra and reno......mmmwwwaaahhhh!!!!!!

Yes, Northern Nevada sure is beautiful. But housing prices are starting to get just a bit ridiculous... it's slowly starting to become an extension of California (minus the jobs and the ocean).

According to CNN Money, the best places to live are:

1. Fort Collins, CO

2. Naperville, IL

3. Sugar Land, TX

4. Columbia/Ellicott City, MD

5. Cary, NC

6. Overland Park, KS

7. Scottsdale, AZ

8. Boise, ID

9. Fairfield, CT

10. Eden Prairie, MN
