i check status every day on the uscis website,,so far ,, no changes,,,,u hear about these things but u never think they will happen to u,,,it will all work out eventually,,hang in there !!!!!

You didn't receive an RFE huh ? you're outside of processing times, you need to take action now ! forget about the online case updates .. we've been approved and our case status online still says " initial review " LOL

OK, an update for the few of us still lingering in this forum.

I sent a written request to my senator on 08/31 after that additional 6 months wait for security reasons letter and today I received another letter from USCIS. It seems it was worth it getting a senator to intervene because I got APPROVED !!!! Decision made less then a week after senator got involved (09/05/2012).

Standard 60 days wait for the new card but since I'm flying to Europe on Wednesday, I'll have to take all my letters with me... not sure if this one is sufficient for re-entry

Their website still says "under initial review".

Mary & John, try contacting your other senator and see if he's more efficient/influential.

Congratulations, KAT & A! I know it must be such a relief!

We got an RFE today. We did not show any financial co-mingling for the year 2009. There wasn't a lot, because John didn't work in 2009, but we will try to get some old bank statements. The fact that we just bought a house together should help. We are relieved, though-- an RFE means they didn't lose our file and someone actually looked at it!

John & Mary, sorry to hear about your RFE. Sometimes it feels like they make rules as they go along... But hopefully at least things are moving now rather than thinking and worrying that your file had been lost, misplaced or buried beneath VSC. I hope you'll get the approval letter soon.

I came back from Europe yesterday through Detroit without my new green card since it hadn't arrived before I had to leave (btw, it's still not here). I had all the paperwork with me as well as the I-551 stamp in my passport but I got pulled into that dingy and dirty room of the main immigration screening for primary interview. Spent 45 minutes in there fuming and not knowing or understanding why did they have to interview me at all. Turned out that they wanted to check out the authenticity of my stamp.

Well, for me, that's it. I'll be applying for naturalization as soon as I get all documents ready. I have had it with immigration!!! Even French were giving me grief trying to argue with me that I needed ESTA. I was so mad... So enough is enough. Lesson learned, avoid Paris and Detroit airports in the future

BTW, USCIS site state that they've printed my new card on 18th and that it should be with me within 30 days.

HI everyone!! i got approved today on my I-751 and they said to wait for the card in the mail :dance: :dance:

but i have 2 questions: 1) how long will it take for me to get the green card in the mail?? 2)In the letter it says to recieve temporary evidence of your lawful admission for permanent residence(I-551 stamp) you must schedule an appointment to see an information officer!! the question is do i have to do that or can i just wait until i get my GC in the mail???
