Hi, we are new here. If you want to add our info to your list, we sent in our I-751 around 9/23/2011. We had our biometrics appt 10/31/2011. And we filed at CSC. No news after that.

I do find it interesting though, that if you look at your list for CSC, all the September filers who went to biometrics after 10/20 are still waiting. It seems like a lot of you who went before then are already done, even if your appt was after that and you went early. Looks like they back-burnered the rest of us since then.

Just found out today that we cannot qualify for a mortgage to buy a new home until VSC sends us a fresh green card. Totally infuriating! Anyone else in the same boat-- or even better, has anyone found a work-around?

I have bought a house ($250k) in Dec 2010. It's an FHA. It's just on my name (immigrant), my wife's score is so low that it would have spiked up the prices so she is not included. I had temporary GC in Dec 2010, now In Dec 2011 I have applied for ROC.

If it's an FHA, then I beleive some local/ small banks have their own underwriters who can approve loan in your case as they need business. I would recommend to shop local banks (you can find them in newspaper or internet). They can do some magic if you can show extension letter of GC

Funny thing is when i tried to buy 75k condo , i was denied inspite of 20% downpayment, since most of the townhomes/ condo don't come under FHA, they tried NON FHA loan and the reson for denial was short credit history (not score). Obviously what can you expect from immigrant a 10 year history

Hey all,

Received the wonderful email yesterday that card production has been issued

I had sent in the usual info but only 1 utility bill and for only 1 month, so I'm glad that it got approved.

Me and my wife just bought a townhouse, and my expired GC did not cause a problem. They just needed a photocopy of the GC and extension letter and the underwriter approved it without apparently any problem. I did have to write a letter explaining why there was a gap in my employment record between when I moved and when I started looking for work after my EAD showed up - they were more worried about that then the GC expiration and extension letter.

We went through a smaller local mortgage company, but I think our underwriting was done by Chase - they appear to be the primary buyer for mortgages set up by our local mortgage company.

Well well well, I went to apply for an ID today because its gonna take forever till I get my 10 year GC (Thanks Vermont!) and they wont even ask my for my GC or anything and just made me a 4 year valid ID . Its crazy how different things are depending on the State you live...hmmmm :blink:
