To all those who were approved (INNEEDOFHELP, INNA, LEXY, CHICAGOGUY 2, MYPERFECTFLAW, and MIKE143), is your approval date exactly or close to the expiration date on your conditional green card?

Hi foolskill - mine is a little over 1 week before the expiration date. I pray that everyone will have a smooth and fast approval too.

Congrats everyone who has been approved! Come on Vermont - I live an hour down the road from the VSC - maybe I could just go there and ask really nicely..........

Maybe just drive up a Friday and hang out at a nearby bar and see who is there. Or at close by lunch cafes during the day. I am sure the Vermont filers would help you pay for some beers or hamburgers if you could find out ####### is going on there.

I go this email from USCIS which states that they are developing an online system for immigration ( I thought they did that 2 yrs ago but apparently it is still going or maybe not finished). Maybe you would like to read this article..

""Posted by Alejandro Mayorkas, Director, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is in the post-development testing phase of a new system that will transform our paper-based agency into an electronic, online organization. This is an unprecedented step for the world’s largest and most complex immigration system. To view what we have developed – the USCIS Electronic Immigration System (ELIS) – we encourage you to watch our informational video.

New card was received on exact date of expiration of first card. Nov. 25. Coincidence ??

My green card expires tomorrow, no news yet on mine being renewed or not. No RFE, no notices or "last update dates" online or anything. ClockWatch2.gif

The worst is not knowing anything of whats happening with it. On top of not knowing if we will move across the country or across the world at a moments notice.. specially now that my card is expiring tomorrow. dead.gif

GC expired Nov. 17th, approval from e-mail was Nov. 29th. So, pretty close together.

My card expires on Saturday. Moving back to the east coast this month so really hoping something happens soon, because last time we made an address change with USCIS they just kept sending to old address.

anyone who has a hard copy NOA1 has a year extension from the expiry date. so, unless you are using your green card (ex. traveling, renewing license, etc) you are fine. and even if you are doing those things, you have a legal extension of the green card validity while the i-751 is being processed.

fret not!

It has not been working today. I suspect maintenance is to blame for it.

Pretty much useless for military spouses.

military issues are not a subject that i am familiar with. i think there is relatively good support for military couples/families available either through the military or through USCIS or both.

for the majority of people who are ROCing with 'normal' cases (ie non-military, non-vawa, non-'i need to travel out of the country for 7 months', etc), an expired green card with an accompanying NOA1 is all you really need for everyday life. the most action my husband's green card has seen is dealing with the initial filing of the i-751 and the biometrics appointment.
