Did my biometrics on friday, in and out in 10 minutes. I keep hoping VSC is going to speed things up, but it looks like I'm in for a long wait, let's hope it'll be for an approval not an RFE

Hello fellow members,

My apologies for not replying to you all sooner, also i would like to say thank you to all for the kind words and the congrats.

Just a quick update on my dates. On my congrats letterr it gives you the decision date, which mine was 11/02/2011. My G/C Admission date is 10/06/2009 which is the date that is on my green card and expires in 11/02/2021. In regards to filling out a timeline, in all honesty im not too sure how to do it, i think the dates updated on this forum give the low down on the timeframe from being sent to being approved?

If anybody has any questions please feel free to ask.

I am trying to figure out what i need to do next, i belive the N400 is next? Things have been quite hectic so i am trying to find the time to sit down in front of the computer and sort it out. If anybody has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated. Again, thank you all for your kind words,

What reason you have given to have early Biometrics taken?

I have 10 months to go but still want to know how did you guys convince people in office to take early bio than scheduled.

I have work, since the ASC center is pretty close, I did mine as early as I can so that I don't have to worry about taking vacation leave or finding reliever for my shift at work.

Probably, will make the process a bit faster.

Lifting Condition (I-751)

09/09/2011 - Sent the package to CSC

09/13/2011 - CSC received the package

09/15/2011 - CSC cashed check and NOA1 Received

09/26/2011 - Biometrics Appointment Notice Date (Sent)

10/13/2011 - Early Biometrics

10/19/2011 - Biometrics Appointment

10/26/2011 - GC expiration

11/25/2011 - Received RFE

11/28/2011 - Sent response to RFE

01/13/2012 - Ordered card production (Approved)

01/19/2012 - 10 yrs GC received

Well, you will not believe this (actually, knowing USCIS, I'm not all that surprised).

We moved couple of weeks ago and duly submitted AR-11 form, sent off the notice to Texas center and phoned NVC only to get a letter from Texas center to tell me that they cannot find my case file and that I need to submit a new application plus the appropriate fees!!!! ranting33va.gifAs we didn't pay enough for the first application already. The phone call to NVC did not clear this mess and apparently he could not amend my change of address again since I phoned them within the last 45 days! So his suggestion was to make an Infopass appointment. The earliest one available is on 1 December and I just wonder what they'll say about it all. I am sooooo cross I'm almost speechless. headbonk.gif

I think I know what happened but getting it through to some NVC phone operator who is following a strict script is almost impossible. When I sent the change of address forms off, I still haven't received my biometrics appointment so I was using the only application reference that I had at the time, located on the notice we all received after submitting the application, which we all know is not the same as the ref. number on the bio letter. So my hunch is that's why the TSC could not find my application. Although, they should have more than one way to link the applications and info together, if by nothing else, by A number.

So fed up with the lot of them.

Just wanted to keep you posted on the latest developments.

I think I got approved! I checked my case status (which I've been doing every week hoping that the system will eventually find it) right now, and to my surprise it said "On November 21, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283." wow, and I was getting ready for a long wait!:)

2-year green card application:

07/29/2009- Mailed I-130, I-485, I-693, I-864, I-864A, G-325A, I-765 via USPS.

08/02/2009- Package delivered to Chicago.

08/06/2009- Checks cashed.

08/10/2009- Received NOA's for I-485, I-130, I-765 (issued August 6th).

08/19/2009- Recieved Biometrics Appointment notice (bio apt 9/12 at 9am).

08/21/2009- Recieved RFE for I-485 (issued August 17th).

08/22/2009- Responded to RFE.

09/01/2009- Case processing resumed (RFE recieved on 8/27/2009).

09/01/2009- Walk-in biometrics at 1:00pm, in and out in 15mins.

09/09/2009- Recieved e-mail: EAD card production ordered on 09/08/2009.

09/14/2009- Recieved another e-mail: EAD card production ordered (AGAIN!) on 09/11/2009.

09/16/2009- EAD recieved in the mail.

09/21/2009- Applied for a SSN.

09/30/2009- Recieved SSC.

10/14/2009- Received interview notice (Interview on 11/16 at 9:35am)

11/16/2009- Interview,APPROVED and CARD production ordered e-mail!Yay!

11/19/2009- Welcome Notice Recieved and Card production ordered e-mail again!

11/27/2009- Received green card in the mail!

Removal of Conditions:

09/09/2011- Sent the package via Priority mail, with delivery confirmation.

09/12/2011- Package delivered.

09/13/2011- Check cashed.

09/14/2011- NOA issued and received on 09/17/2011.

So my hunch is that's why the TSC could not find my application. Although, they should have more than one way to link the applications and info together, if by nothing else, by A number.

I think I got approved! I checked my case status (which I've been doing every week hoping that the system will eventually find it) right now, and to my surprise it said "On November 21, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283." wow, and I was getting ready for a long wait!:)

It's taken 18 months from applying for K1 to receipt of Green Card! Thank God it's over until 12/7/11

There's a natural diffusion process here: people who filed AOS in October 2009 received green cards with "Resident Since" dates spread out over roughly a 6 month range. That translates into a 6 month range during which all of our 2-year GCs will expire. And for each month in that 6 month range, we each have the option of filing our RoCs either 1, 2, or 3 months before.

What this means is that our October 2009 group will be spread over a nine separate month-based RoC Filer's groups, but we will mostly be clustered in three or four of those months, with people who filed AOS a few months before or after us mixed in.

I think most of us are clustered in the September, October, and November 2011 I-751 Filers threads, but a few of the people in the October 2009 AOS Filer's group, as I recall, had to wait a significant amount of extra time to get their GCs. They may not need to file their RoCs until May or even June.

It might be fun to create an "October 2009 AOS Filer's I-751 Filers" thread, and merge the information from our current monthly I-751 Filer's threads, but it would also be a lot of work, and end up causing fragmentation to the progress lists we keep per month - people would post in one place and not the other, and keeping things synchronized would be a lot of work. Keeping the I-751 Filer's threads split up by month of I-751 filing is a good thing, because then someone who filed early in November, for example, can see what the next few weeks will look like by looking at the info posted for people who filed a few weeks before them, and that is nice and easy to find in the October thread.

Besides, it's not like grade school where the kids in other classes and grades are scary aliens, we're totally allowed to visit and post in each other's threads! :D

SURPRISE Our approval letter arrived in today's mail - 11/25/11

Says green card will arrive within 60 days. Decision date 11/21/2011
