Is the I-797 the same as NOA1? I can't remember from 2 years ago. We got our I-797 on Saturday

All notices from USCIS are on Form I-797c. The first notices you received for the original petition filing, AOS and now ROC are all receipt notices referred to as NOA1 on VisaJourney (but the terms NOA1, NOA2 have no official meaning).

Thanks for clarifying. I can't believe it's only two years since we went through the last process. It feels like so long ago. I knew everything back then - ha. I think it wiped me out.

Hi JJbandero,

I had a similar experience when I applied for I-485. I received 2 application numbers. I wrote a letter asking USCIS to confirm the correct number. They were very helpful and fast with their response, and informed me of the correct number and that the wrong number had been cancelled. It was an error on their part. I did not use an infopass to correct the error, but I would not rule one out in your case.

Thanks for the reassurance Lexy, what you did was a good idea, I didn't think of it especially since the NCSC told me they couldn't do anything to help me. This makes me wonder if the incorrect receipt number is going to create problems for the biometric notice...

Hi everyone. I have my biometrics appointment tomorrow, and today I thought of one of the questions they ask you on the form "Your hair color". Last time I remember I couldn't decide whether to put "black" or "brown" (I've always considered by hair black but at the ASC everyone was telling me brown), and I don't remember which one I picked. So this time I want to pick black because that's what I have on my State ID. But what if last time I had my biometrics I put "Brown",and if I select "Black" this time, it will create a discrepancy. Do you think that problem could delay my biometrics process and application process?

My biometrics case number is different too, i think thats nothing to worry about

I would pick black regardless of if my hair used to be blonde because its not anymore!

People change their hair colour all the time i highly doubt it makes any big deal what so ever.

My biometric notice WAC number is 100% different from my NOA1 number.
