Wrong on 91%. More like 84% or less are working. The real unemployment rate is still over 16%.

Remember the 'unemployed' number only counts people actively looking for work.

I understand it looks black to some spotty kid out of college, but really it isnt that bad although if unemployment is you then its 100%

When I was 47, I was fired along with all my fellow directors and spent a year writing 750 applications and I was told by my long time agency that I would NEVER work again. I sat in my top coat with the heat cut off all winter. Even that wasnt so bad and I lived on £5 a week food - no problem

I heard about the 30's and this is a piece of cake compared

Noooooo, we borrow, borrow, borrow from the future to prop up this market here and that market there.

Let's pour trillions of dollars down the drain, trying to save homeowners from foreclosure and the lenders from bankruptcy and the unemployed from running out of benefits, never mind that the rescued homeowners will re-default anyway, the rescued banks will fail anyway and the unemployed won't even start looking for a job until the benefits run out.

We pay people not to work and then complain that illegal aliens come here to do the jobs that Americans won't do.

It's amazing, really.

I pick and choose my politics - I am VERY STRONGLY pro universal health care as it has saved my family's lives on a few occasions(without them losing their homes and being made bankrupt).

(No doubt that is seen as another fantastist lie)

However, on govt in business I have alot of sympathy with the view that gov should stay out of business in most cases. This short term rescue of GM worked however and saved mass unemployment. Had it lasted more than a few months, I would not have supported it as I saw Triumph etc in the UK that was supported when it was a dud and kept open only for political purposes and the unions.

I dont believe Bernanke is TRAITOR who should be slow hung and I think he is an expert and will save the situation as much as any govt can do - which is limited. The haters and people who want to physically harm him should lay off.

I agree that the housing situation she be allowed to work its way through. The US is the only important first world country with a growing population and the houses will be needed eventually

The big banks should be broken up and allowed to fail subject to depositor insurance (gov)

Wells and Chase are already getting abusive with terms and charges.

I see nothing wrong with police officers checking immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal and those reasons can be anything so long as they are rational and not abusively used when the officer doesnt really suspect them

This country is riven down the middle by politics - I am in the majority left-center as evidenced by Obama winning

I refuse to be beaten down and coerced and devalued by the other 50% who claim that god and conservatism and birth place, gives them the right to devalue me as a person and spread lies about who I am and my history - just to push their religious/political agenda to a 'win'

In that regard, I am a better American than they, and indeed the way they act is against everything this country was set up for. It is not the way Americans should debate. I debate harshly and vigorously and I am critical of many aspects of US life - but these are general comments and I don't call other people liars when they relate their life experiences.

I got a bit diverted there, but anyway, many rightist economic ideas fit with mine and I am wary of unions - but I would not ban them from the workplace. Tax the rich - me and Warren Buffet say so. Don't pollute to make money like the ultra right would. No torture.
