There are things a person can do to optimize energy costs such as living in a smaller house, living in a city, living closer to work, and conserving energy. But often times choose not to do so and are affected much more by fluctuations in energy costs.

I have a good sized house and being retired I have the heating/cooling and lights/computers on all the time

I pay $30 a month for ALL energy costs

Thats coz I am all electric and live near a big hydro dam

Many times the operators PAY PEOPLE to take the electricity as they have an excess and must keep generating

ALCOA take huge amounts of dirt cheap leccy to smelt aluminium - oops aluminum and sometimes they are PAID to take it

Want to do somethimg to cut costs, move near a hydro dam. Lots of churches for you too. They pray for snow in winter and for the mexicans to drown in the river (the latter is only when they get home)

In periods of deflation, people tend not to have jobs.

Between 1953 and 2010, Japan's unemployment rate averaged 2.60 percent reaching a high of 5.60 percent in July of 2009 and a record low of 1.00 percent in November of 1968.

The last reported rate was 4.7 percent in July 2011. Pretty low, wouldn't you say?

Now look at their inflation rates (deflation is marked red):

I don't believe that you have ever told the truth ever on this forum but that is OK since you are so rich and all and can make ####### up.whistling.gif

True, but if your looking at the period 1989- to present its spiked pretty heavily. JP has such a low unemployment rate due to a declining population.

Its a totally different financial culture - they dont borrow from the chinese - they borrow from themselves.

My point is, deflation doesn't always mean high unemployment.

True again. Lets quantify it and say in the case of Japan, during periods of deflation the unemployment rate is double the average.

If the US average since 1950 was 6% then during deflation US unemployment might be at say 12%.

You have no evidence to say that

Perhaps I am the only person you know that doesnt live in a trailer at the back of Houston - it does not mean I dont exist and what I say about my history and how I live is not true

Dont call me a liar Tex because I resent it

You dont know me and where I live and how I live and my history - dont trash me and my life because you know nothing

about me and certainly not enough to say I am a liar and make things up

It's disgraceful
