Chat logs : Facebook / Yahoo

Greetings,

I am about to apply for CR1 my US wife and I are gathering information to include in the package of the I-130. Unlike, some of you here we do not use skype conversation as chat logs. We only use facebook and yahoo messenger. How do you guys think we can provide chat log with these networks? Thank you for your usual assistance

Not every one is using skype and I am sure there are some people who are not using internet at all.

I believe yahoo have a chat history, that you can bring as one of the evidences. Also phone calls, like phone cards could help as well.

We surely will include phone calls in the package because we talk on phone more than 6 times a day. but we also wanted to include facebook and yahoo because we spent whole days chatting, she has internet on her phone and i do too

you have to activate yahoo messenger's archiving preferences.. but i assume you might have already?

facebook also saves prev chat and mail logs. better documentation in my opinion than skype, i believe

What's the best format to have the Facebook logs as, for submitting along with I-130? Should I just print them out as they are on screen? We've spoken via Facebook when not in the same room, for almost a year, about 3,000 back and forth messages. Do I print out the whole log, or is that considered 'too much'? What about 'really' personal details? Can those be censored in a way? Thanks!

Pick and choose messages from each month that you want to submit, you don't need to submit all 3,000 messages. As for the messages that contain "really personal details," I would simply just exclude such messages.

I have a smattering over the months, over the years of yahoo and MSN - about 1/8 inch per month, printed out 2 pages per page. It's easy to think 'send all', but I prefer a smattering, instead.
