Hi All,

I'm a long time lurker here on visajourney and I'm coming to the last leg of my K1 application. I have my visa medical scheduled for next wednesday but I'm nervous as I don't know what to expect, what happens in the medical, what questions they ask and what tests they do for the bloodwork and x-ray, how long after it's done will it be sent to the consulate and how quickly I could be given an interview?

I've gathered all my vaccination records and recently got bloodwork done to see what boosters I've needed, my family doctor has given me the boosters that were needed. He has also given me a vaccination card with that information.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone who's recently had a medical done at the George Street Medical Centre Sydney could share a little about what to expect at the appointment.

Thank-You in advance :)

You have nothing to worry about you just go to your appointment and see Dr Waks? I presume and you fill in a form and pay there and then he will do some tests like reflexes and hearing and send you to get the blood work done and x ray which is just up in Maquarie St. You wait and bring the x ray back and then he will tell you when to come and pick up your envelope with your results in it. There is nothing to worry about it is simple and painless and they a re all very nice in there.

Thank-you so much for the reply, that makes me feel a lot better. I'm not familiar with the city so I'll be sure to go in early in case I get lost but thanks for sharing. I appreciate it.

If you know the train line you go to Wynyard and walk out George st entrance. the medical centre is directly across the road .

Hi all

Sorry to revive an old topic, but I also have a question regarding having a medical done in Sydney.

Barbara J, you mentioned that Dr Waks will tell you when to pick up the results. Does this mean I can pick up my medical results directly from him instead of waiting for them to be mailed to me?? If so, that will really speed up the process!

Thanks

I think I'll post here too.. I'm nervous about this too I hate needles lol. Last time I had a blood check was maybe 10 years ago. I've got loads of vaccination records and papers from when I was a kid up until maybe high school. Which people are the ones who get blood tests and shots or whatever? The ones who never had any as a kid? How do they determine whether you're getting shots or not?
