It's kind of a twofold problem. People call so much because the process is a black box and what little visibility there is, is poorly used and not updated often/on time (NVS AVRS?!?!?!?) If they had a better means of making information available there would still be calls, but things like calling to get the case number from the NVC when the case gets transferred and then calling to get the NEW case number when you opt for EP. I understand they are probably getting a lot of "what's happening with my case" calls and it gets on their nerves. Especially if they've just dealt with someone who has a problem with their case and is blaming them. Sounds like the woman was having a bad day, but to be honest, calling daily or even weekly isn't going to speed things up and all it does is tie up the lines and a person to tell you there is no new information.

I feel your pain, especially with the extra black box that is the AP. Hang in there and don't let their bad mood get to you.

I am in total agreement with you. You would think those folks would have had some training on how to exhibit compassion, show sensitive toward stressed and anxious beneficiaries/petitioners in this process.

Maybe they have had such training, I do not know...guess I can dream.

Keep your head up and stay positive!

Calling 8 times a day is to say the least ridiculous! I saw you called that many times day in and day out I would have done the same thing. HOW ABOUT SOME COMMON sense folks? I wonder how many people could wait the 18 months plus like my wife and I did? What will you do if your denied? Are you going to move to your SO country? Quit your job? Sell you house car all your belongings? Better know all these answers before you file!

Some jobs take a special kind of person. Someone who can sense the customer’s frustration and not take it personal. Just because you can answer a phone and enter data on a computer does not mean you can handle a customer service desk job.

My ex-wife worked for a while at the state Bureau of Motor Vehicles. That is one of those places. NO BODY goes in to the BMV happy to be there. Most are upset about taking the time, spending the money and a lot are told they do not have the correct papers and have to come back later and do it all over again. You just have to be nice and smile because it is not personal.

I don’t have a problem with the lady asking why you call so much if she genuinely wants to know. If she wants to work “the front desk” she has to always do it with a smile.
