Hello there Guys, now the case is complete and I am pretty sute it has been shipped to the embassy (Interview) at the end of the month (Sepetember), I just wanted to as if it is a good idea to just e-mail the New Delhi Embassy to get the status of my file. NVC in the letter says for future information, please contact the embassy directly, so I thought I e-mail and find out if they have received my file, Good Idea?

Can't speak for New Delhi, but we have had a dozen or so email interchanges with the embassy in Costa Rica over the last six months, and they have been cordial, prompt, and have always answered our questions...I'd like to think that all embassies are as helpful, but somehow I just know that we got one of the good ones !!

You don't need to contact New Delhi consulate for anything unless you have a specific request to make.

You need to get your medical done and submit any documents asked for in your case to be submitted at VFS and the following at the closest VFS to you:

  • Courier fee Rs. 387
  • Copy of passport (first and last pages only) and original passport
  • Copy and original appointment letter
  • 3 2x2 passport photos
  • Any documents requested to be submitted at VFS in your appointment letter

Remember to take back the passport, as it is needed to enter the consulate. VFS does not take any additional evidence of relationship you have or photos or... - those need to be taken to interview. They only take the required documents to be submitted.

VFS addresses servicing Delhi Consulate:

Well I just wanted to find out if my case is sitting at the embassy because that will ease my worries knowing that the file is with the embassy. Also regarding the paperwork, I have alreday mailed all the needed paperwork to my people in India and I have also mailed the Interview letters. Once they receive it, they will be able to setup the medical apt. Only my grandmother's case needed some documents, but for the wife, nothing was need.

Thanks for the info!

I got you - i saw guys using DHL link trying to figure out the dispatch of their case papers. It is in one of the thread and you may try it to.

I forgot to mention "Medical report" in the list of things to be submitted at VFS. All the best with your interviews.
