When going to BPI to pay for K1 visa application fee is there a form to fill out before going to BPI or while at BPI? If so, which form is it and what information must be supplied? (I know supposed to take passport, copy of passport--just checking to see what else maybe needed.) Thankyou!! --Inday/RK

Just the deposit slip. Bring your passport and approach a BPI employee and tell him/her that you will pay for K-1 visa. Visa Fee is $350.00 but the rates vary in peso depends on exchange rate. They will give you the amount in peso, the payee (US Embassy) and account number. You will have to put your passport number on the deposit slip.

hello,

my thoughts to you is Xerox your passport(2 copies)before enter the Bpi bank.GO search first for the BPI BRANCH where they will allow you to pay the k-1 visa process,BrING the APPROVAL letter from the embassy coz sometimes they wanna see it first, talk to the manager of the bank or staff representative (information disk)some teller are not familiar with such.

the amount is 350usd.after you pay he/she will supply you a MRV reciept and attach it to your application and has to bring it during the interview, dont lost it that is very important of all lol.

hope it will enlighten your mind

Maria--thank you for your response and the benefit of your recent experience. Thank you for telling me to know better exactly what to do/what will happen at BPI. I was confused because thought at one time BPI took DS-157 form or something like that. Thank you again. And also, congratulation on your very recent visa approval (which I saw on your timeline). I am very happy for you! --Inday/RK

OK, I see how this agrees to what Maria posted plus ur advisment to make passport copies. Thank you for additonal good tips about making sure to seek BPI branch, bring approval letter, and talk to manager/staff representatitive. All very, very good information and I thank you very much for your speedy and informative reply.

You mention to attach MRV reciept to application. Which application/form does MRV receipt get attached to?

you are welcome :) The MRV receipt they are talking is just the lower portion of the BPI deposit slip. The upper portion, is the bank's copy. they will detach the lower portion for your copy with bank's validation, your passport number and amount paid. that is what you are going to bring during your interview. before you enter the embassy, a staff will collect all your DS forms, appointment letter, and BPI receipt and will staple all in one for you to drop in window 39 (?) i think...:)

Hi RK. When I paid for visa fee, I didn't wait for packet 3 anymore. I just went to BPI w/ my passport, fell in line to the teller window. I told the lady that I'm gonna pay for K1 visa..she gave me a deposit slip and guided me on how to fill out the slip, then I paid P15,050. That is fixed no matter what is the exchange rate then after payment made, she gave me a validation copy=MRV which I'm going to bring on my interview...

TJ--Thank you! Very clear! Thank you for tip about fee not varying if exchange rate changes. Sounds fairly straightforward and also thank you for the good luck wishes, TJ. Tried to go to BPI earlier this week but did not realize holiday two days in a row. Will try again Wednesday! --Inday/RK

Just to correct that info...the BPI Manager told me that the US embassy sends a new exchange rate every week to BPI. So, the rate varies and always higher than the prevailing exchange rate in any banks.

So if the US embassy decides the exchange rate, they can jack it up as high as they want to get extra money. What a scam they've got going. Plus with them only allowing applicants to use BPI there is no competition or checks and balances. This needs to be investigated. My fiance ended up paying $20 extra dollars because BPI used the exchange rate of 49 instead of the prevailing rate of 45.5.

1) You are ranting in a 5 year old topic... try starting a new topic

2) You got is backassward, if BPI used P49 = $1 you SAVED $20 versus the P45.5 = $1 you stated. Simply math

The amount is locked in by the embassy, usually the embassy rates errors to the benefit of the USC ;)

The payment amount is locked in by the embassy so BPI has little to say about it.
