Alan, you're reading things that just aren't there. Either put your glasses on, or take your anti-dementia medication. I don't hate you, I just think you're full of #######. I'm not protestant either, nor am I catholic. You would no more wear union jack outfit and walk through Bogside than you would wear a hood and bed sheet in Harlem. It's just a stupid thing to say. I only mention that I have been there to point out how absurd you are being, again.

I see where the confusion has arisen.

When I said " Next time I walk through the Bogside", you translated that as though I had done it once.

In fact it's a figure of speech to say " Next time I..." as in " next time I am in church with Pat Robetson I will...."

For clarification, I have never walked through the bogside in stroke city - that is an area of my country that is unsafe for me as you correctly identified.

Much different to the USA where there are no parts of the country where one could not wear an American flag T shirt -- at least until the time that Rick Perry is able to get Texas to seceed as he threatened.

I met some nice people in Northern Ireland (from both tribes) but there are sufficient haters that I am glad I don't have to go back.

ps I sat next to Gerry Adams in Dublin while he had his breakfast back then in the 80's - I was 3 feet away on the next solo table - strange feeling given his status at that time.

Despite your manure-wrapped summary of how you regard me, I won't let it upset me so that's ok

Australia got rid of polystyrene containers years ago. It didn't affect us at all. Who cares if they're gone? No biggie.

 Exactly, it is not a big deal with exception of those who worry about the people who work at the manufacturing plant losing their jobs. My thinking tells me that we're all animals and must learn to adapt (survival of the fittest), they'll have to find a new line of work.... apparently this is too difficult for some to grasp. And I'm glad to see a post back on topic again rather than who drinks what garbage brew produced by some big brewery, rather than supporting local brewers and the other posts about who wears orange on St. Patrick's Day.

I remember my grandpa telling me how we imported Irish after the civil war cuz they were cheaper than slaves. Give em a glass of cheap whiskey and a few potatoes and they would work all day.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Stuff tastes horrible out of them. I wont drink from any plastic. I wont drink from a bottle like a wino - wiping the neck on my sleeve like in dodge city --uurgghh.

That is ok for truck drivers who dont have a glass handy, but they actually bring a bottle in restaurants here !

I always ask for a glass, then I have to incubate it in the sun to get all the blocks of ice off

Sounds like my great grandad Micky

We tried to get the celt out of our family after that but an error occurred and a Welsh woman called Sarah Bevan from the valleys was added to my gene pool

We then got some Norman French and Dane and Saxon and now I am able to dance without holding my arms to my sides

It's great being a mongrel but I still like spuds and whisky and never pigs knuckles like a real saxon

You do know that bacteria grows between 40 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit?

Your telling this to a Brit. The same peeps that drink beer that has some kind of green mutation floating at the top of it and is warmer than the sun in Yakima, Washington during July.

I see, I took it as you being boastful, as if it were something you had the courage to do that nobody else would.

Garry Pucket and the Union gap - 'young girl get outa my mind'

Union Gap is part of Yakima town and Gary Puckett was living there and called his band after it.

I know that coz I did my brainwashing there at the USCIS office

They threw a naturalization applicant out coz he brought his illegal wife with him to the interview !

Some dump the Yakima - never been back there either

Nope, anyone who has looked at Martin McGuiness on telly would not put themselves in that position any more than they would sell playboy magazines in Teheran or 'Atheist weekly' subscriptions in Colorado or set up pro-abortion radio in Oklahoma..

The reason I am so strongly anti-religion is because of all that murderous threatening hatred all round the world for all those religious reasons and a million more.

Big J seemed an ok sort of feller and he would have been on my side. If he saw what was going on nowadays in his name, he might have joined me and been converted to atheism too. He would certainly have had a nicer easter holiday out of it and his apperance would not seem out of place in San Francisco.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Adapt. Survival of the fittest. Hmmmm. It's funny you post this as justification for banning something.

You're going to force government regulation on someone at the expense of jobs and livelihood instead of letting survival of the fittest happen naturally?
