I'd like to see these types of restaurants encourage patrons to bring their own beverage containers, by offering them a lower price for a drink, as well as offering reusable plates and utensils for those who eat at the establishment. Fast food is notorious for creating a lot of unnecessary garbage.

Your cup is unsanitary.

It's a lot cheaper to throw some stuff away than reuse other stuff.

In france and spain, people lay on the floor under the wine barrel tap and let it pour directly into their mouths - thus dispensing with the need for styrene cups or detergent to wash glasses

The job-creators welcome that as they sell more wine and have no cup costs

In the Hofbrauhaus, you can get a locker for your own Stein.

But there is only one hofbrauhaus.

I agree that the Bavarians are very practical. I particularly like the vomitarium at the hofbrauhaus where you hang onto huge stainless steel handles while you chuck your load with gusto (the spanish janitor) - then a plate of radishes to refresh your pallet, and then back on the ale ! Zwei pils Heidi !!

I was Geschaeftsfuehrer in Munich and absorbed the culture better than I have the US culture where drinking a can of beer while swinging one's legs on the promenade is VERBOTEN pilgrim !!! I suppose the Bavarians are Catholics so having a beer is not equated with devil worship like it is in Tinyville.

The beer in Bavaria is the best in the world

That can't be true because everything in the USA is the best in the world. The military, the system of government, the quality and integrity of the politicians, life expectancy, the efficiency of the health system, the quality of the TV and radio, the justice system in the way that the 'yet unconvicted' are treated, and the care and love and assistance given to the less fortunate. Washington State Ferries has a sign on board which says " Washington Ferries are a model for Ferry Services all over the world"

Mitt Ronmney says the USA is "The finest Country that has EVER existed in the history of the world"

The idea that Bavaria has ANYTHING better than the USA, is unworthy of consideration

If a State of the Union bans styrene, then that must be right and any country not adopting that should be labelled 'rogue' and warned about their conduct

and get a Bratwurst of galactic dimensions too. I go once every week for respite...

I see people bring their sports bottles into establishments and fill them with drinks all the time. Same with coffee thermoses. However, there isn't any real incentive for patrons to do so unless these restaurants offer drinks at a reduced cost for those who bring in their own container. As far as whether it is unsanitary - that's entirely up to the individual as to whether they actually wash their dishes at home (you know, personal liberty, etc., etc.).

You can keep your chewy ales. I prefer the cold clean taste of Coors, with the 2-stage activation label, to make sure you don't have to even taste the hops in your beer.

Some people drink beer, others drink Coors. It's sad that a company really ahd to dumb down beer for people. Usually, I reach into the cooler or fridge and can tell if a beer is cold. I guess we can thank the wizards of this country like Eric and Slim

And that's the problem. We've become a disposable society, with no real market for the disposed of raw material. I am not a fan of bans or the prohibition of things. Education is the key with these types of things, but it is difficult as most don't have a trash to steam or landfill in their backyard, so they can't relate to what they're being informed of.

There are a few. We have one right across the river in Newport, KY.

Or the county health department.

Did you forget my criminal activities were alcohol induced? I wasn't drinking blue-striped beer prior to the incident... I was at the Hofbrauhaus where they serve real beer... and it's nowhere near as cold as the mountains.

I have no idea how Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc., are still in business.

Education is not the key. Cost is the key.

If we could find cheaper alternatives, or closer alternatives, I'm sure we'd use them. A lot of folks out there will go green if the cost difference isn't significant. But, not all of us can afford to shop at Whole Foods and until the prices are similar, we'll continue to buy pre-packaged everything.
