Top 10 ways Obama is destroying our country

As if 16 years of Bill and Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush, and their corrupt advisers like James Carville and Karl Rove, in and around the White House were not enough to bring our nation to its knees, the last one and one half years of President Barack Obama's reign have set new lows in leadership, to put it mildly. Here is my scorecard of the worst aspects of Obama's ultra-leftist if not borderline communist rule, which has left the country on the brink of total disaster.

First, there is Obama's huge "commitment" to insert government into every aspect of our lives. Rather than a belief in God, Bolshevik-style Obama and his sympathizers and supporters worship the "deity of government" rather than our actual savior. Whether it is trillion-dollar taxpayer bailouts ofbanks, socialized health care, phony regulation of the financial industry, proposed "cap-and-trade" and near total government control over the environment, the state is always involved. We have been told, and ultimately forced, to bow down to the altar of government.

Two, Obama and his black Muslim or radical friends like Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Wright and others – who I believe have a deep-seated prejudice if not hatred of Jews and white Christians – have sought in every way possible to severely harm the state of Israel. It is no longer "fashionable" to be overtly anti-Semitic, so the whipping boy becomes the Jewish state. As a result, Israel – which has been abandoned – will ultimately have to act on its own against the mullahs in Iran and other threats to its national security. And, no longer seeing the United States as an ally, Israel will now seek to form other alliances, not necessarily totally friendly to our interests. Even my liberal Jewish friends are disgusted by Obama and the self-hating far-leftist Jews the president surrounds himself with – which he uses as cover for his anti-Semitic, anti-Israeliactions.

Three, Obama and his comrades are all show and bluster; they are even more incompetent that George W. Bush was as president. I could go on and on, but one need only reflect on how he and his government god handled the BP Gulf Coast oil spill to see through his charade of "reason." Can you imagine how Obama would react if a terrorist group detonated a nuclear weapon on American soil? God help us all.

Four, Obama has subverted our system of justice with the assistance of his felonious Attorney General Eric Holder. This is the same Eric Holder who illegally sold pardons when he was deputy attorney general in the Clinton Justice Department, and it is the same Eric Holder who had Nolanda Hill indicted – one of late Commerce Secretary Ron Brown's girlfriends – when she wanted to cooperate with and testify for Judicial Watch in uncovering the now infamous Chinagate/campaign-financescandal. This scandal was first uncovered at Brown's Commerce Department while I was chairman of Judicial Watch. I discuss this in my newbook,"Whores: Why and How I Came to Fight the Establishment."Now, Holder is up to even more skulduggery, advocating reading Miranda rights to non-U.S. citizen terrorists, opposing Arizona's anti-immigrationlaw, SB 1070, shutting down the Guantanamo prison and outrageously moving terrorists inside the United States, advocating for newly confirmed Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and other acts intended to subvert our Constitution, our sovereignty and national security.

Five, Obama has disgraced us internationally and worked against freedom and human-rights movements and activists worldwide. The Iranian opposition, who just a year ago looked as if it might overthrow the neo-Nazi-like Islamic regime, has gotten no support from this administration and is now all but dead. And, even Voice of America – ourtelevisionand radio network, which is intended to promote freedom around the world – has been muzzled and subverted by Obama, with the son of a mullah, Ali Sajjadi, in control of its Persian News Network – as just one obvious example. Then there is Hugo Chavez's Venezuela, which not coincidentally supports the Iranian mullahs and who continues to spread his Marxist ideology all over Latin America. The "best" and "toughest" thing Obama has done to Chavez was shake his hand during last year'smeetingof the Summit of the Americas. The message this sent is that Obama supports Chavez, and the two seem to have a real kinship. All of this is not to mention the ongoing disasters in Afghanistan and North Korea – all of which are festering and ready to explode.

Sixth, Obama has failed to protect our borders, allowing more illegals to flood across the Mexican border into the United States – which undoubtedly include more terrorists – that threaten the well-being of the American people. At the same time, he opposes Arizona's reasonable anti-immigration legislation and is scheming to find a way to grant amnesty by fiat, going around Congress. I am pro-immigration, but Obama lacks any appreciation of the legitimate concerns of the American people that immigration should only be of the legal variety.

Seventh, Obama has given too much power to his wife, firstladyMichelleObama, who many analysts, myself included, believe is the radical "force" behind the throne. When will Americans wise up? We do not elect first ladies (or first men), and in my opinion they should be seen and not heard. And, who can forget Hillary Clinton and her evil and destructive ways during her husband's administration?

Eighth, Obama is not hardworking. He has even taken morevacationsthan George W. Bush. As the American people can barely afford to eat, send their children to school, find housing and just make ends meet, this sends a terrible message to the nation, which is being asked to sacrifice.

Ninth, Obama has used his press secretary, Robert Gibbs, more than most modern presidents, to lie to the media and the American people. Our presidents should answer questions directly to the media and Congress – as is true of prime ministers in Great Britain – rather than using surrogates to lie for them. This has destroyed confidence in our system of government.

Tenth, Obama's arrogance and aloofness – almost as if he is above and better than us all – is more than annoying; it is dangerous and incendiary during this time of crisis.

Underpublicized threat deep in White House

FBI: Penetration by radical agents worse than thought

John GuandoloInfiltration of the federal government by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood is worse than some have warned recently, says a former FBI special agent in Washington.

The agent confirmed that at least three operatives of the Egypt-based Brotherhood – whose credo is "Jihad is our way and death in the cause of Allah is our dream" – have penetrated the Obama administration.

The shocking charge was first leveled by Muslim reformer Tarek Fatah during a recent speech in Toronto.

"When someone says that there is penetration of jihadi Islamists within society, do not dismiss it as some right-wing, xenophobic, racist rant," warned Fatah, a Canadian journalist.

Fatah also named "Dalia Mogahed, who writes (Obama's) speeches, who comes from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt; and another woman, an academic, (who) was appointed in that circle."

Former FBI special agent John Guandolo says Obama's ties to agents for the Muslim Brotherhood are even more extensive.

"The level of penetration in the last three administrations is deep," he said. "For this president, it even goes back to his campaign with Muslim Brotherhood folks working with him then."

Equally alarming, the Brotherhood also has placed several operatives and sympathizers within key positions in Homeland Security and the U.S. military, notes Guandolo, a former Marine Corps officer.

The veteran federal agent says such infiltration threatens national security, because the U.S. leadership of the international Brotherhood has outlined a secret plan to "destroy" the U.S. and other Western governments "from within."

After the 9/11 attacks, he says the FBI discovered the plan written in Arabic among documents seized from the basement of a prominent Brotherhood leader living in a Washington suburb.

Guandolo says the stated Muslim Brotherhood strategy for change "from within" includes the installation of loyal Brothers into political office.

President Obama's top Muslim ambassador, Rashad Hussain, has raised suspicions. He is U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, a powerful international group headquartered in Saudi Arabia and closely aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Before first joining the White House as a lawyer, Hussain regularly spoke to Brotherhood front groups and defended Brotherhood leaders like Sami al-Arian. Hussain at first denied defending the convicted terrorist, claiming he was misquoted, but then recanted after Politico.com produced a tape-recording of his remarks.

Recently, he has been overseas encouraging devotion to Islam, including in terror hotspots like Afghanistan.

In fact, Hussain has told Afghans the antidote to Islamic violence "is Islam itself."

"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," he said during a recent speech in Kabul.

Hussain, a devout Muslim, says promotion of the Muslim faith is "key" to the administration's strategy to turn Muslims away from violence.

"We see that as one of the key elements of a strategy to address this type of violence," he said.

The strategy is at odds with what the co-chairmen of the 9/11 Commission recently recommended in their follow-up report on homegrown terror, "Assessing the Terrorist Threat: A Report of the Bipartisan Policy Center's National Security Preparedness Group."

The study found that Islam was motivating terrorists not just abroad, but inside America's Muslim community. And it scolded U.S. leaders for pretending religion is not a factor in growing violence.

Still, Hussain insists: "When it comes to the problem of violent extremism, Islam is not the problem."

Hussain helped draft Obama's conciliatory Cairo speech to Muslims. Also helping with the president's speeches and policies toward Muslims is Mogahed, whose pro-Islamist statements have been posted on the Muslim Brotherhood's website, ikhwanweb.com.

Obama appointed the hijab-wearing Mogahed to the President's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. On a British television program, Islam Channel, Mogahed defended Shariah law, the barbaric Islamic legal code that treats women as second-class citizens.

Muslim women actually "associate gender justice or justice for women with Shariah compliance," she argued. "It is 'only a small fraction' that associate Shariah with 'oppression of women.'"

She added that Muslims should work to integrate Islamic law into public law.

Another Brotherhood-tied figure influencing the White House is Azizah al-Hibri.

Obama this June appointed her to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. A Muslim professor, al-Hibri is also the granddaughter of a sheik, who claims the Saudi criminal justice system is more moral than the American one because it accepts blood money from murderers.

Al-Hibri herself has proclaimed: "Islamic fiqh (law) is deeper and better than Western codes of law."

She served on the advisory board of the American Muslim Council and made joint appearances with its leader Abdurahman Alamoudi. Now defunct, the AMC was a front group for the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, and Alamoudi was the Brotherhood's top leader in America. He is now behind bars as one of al-Qaida's top fundraisers in America.

Al-Hibri has also made appearances at Islamic Society of North America conferences. The Justice Department says ISNA is a Brotherhood front and recently named the group an unindicted co-conspirator in a plot to provide material support to Hamas terrorists.

Guandolo identified several other Brotherhood-connected agents of influence – all of whom are just as politically savvy and moderate sounding – who have worked their way into government positions, including:

• Arif Alikhan, who was assistant Homeland Security secretary for policy development and is now a distinguished visiting professor of homeland security and counterterrorism at the National Defense University.
• Syrian-born Kareem Shora, who is Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano's senior policy adviser.
• Navy Cmdr. Youssef Aboul-Enein and Jocelyne Cesari, a Muslim convert who previously worked with Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, both of whom teach at colleges within the National Defense University.

Guandolo blames the advances Brotherhood figures on political correctness and lax vetting at government agencies.

Even at the FBI, he notes, an Iranian-born Muslim has taken over the agency's weapons of mass destruction program.

Stung by workplace discrimination lawsuits by Arab and Muslim employees, the FBI has come under pressure to hire more Arab and Muslim agents and language specialists and promote existing ones, while clearing them for higher security levels, according the best-selling book"Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America."

The book cites internal FBI records showing the agency has been sued by no fewer than 14 Arab and Muslim employees since 9/11. Some of the lawsuits have been solicited or aided by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, another Muslim Brotherhood front group. The FBI in 2008 cut off formal outreach with CAIR and its branch offices.

"This is happening as we remain silent. And I say that as a liberal Democrat who worked and campaigned for Barack Obama," said Fatah, a Pakistan-born journalist and activist who founded the moderate Muslim Canadian Congress to fight the spread of "Islamofascism."

"Muslim Mafia" also has prompted a lawsuit from CAIR over the acquisition by the authors of CAIR documents.

In the lawsuit, CAIR, a self-described Muslim civil-rights group, does not defend itself against the book's claims, and the FBI has seized the CAIR material from the Washington law office of one of the attorneys for the authors. A previous filing in the case revealeda federal grand jury is investigating CAIRfor possible violation of laws that ban financial dealings with terrorist groups or countries under U.S. sanctions.

AsWND reported, CAIR's complaint seeks to expunge all copies of "Muslim Mafia" in an attempt, according to defense lawyers, to eliminate evidence that could lead to criminal prosecution.

Now defunct, the AMC was a front group for the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, and Alamoudi was the Brotherhood's top leader in America. He is now behind bars as one of al-Qaida's top fundraisers in America.

Al-Hibri has also made appearances at Islamic Society of North America conferences. The Justice Department says ISNA is a Brotherhood front and recently named the group an unindicted co-conspirator in a plot to provide material support to Hamas terrorists.

Guandolo identified several other Brotherhood-connected agents of influence – all of whom are just as politically savvy and moderate sounding – who have worked their way into government positions, including:

• Arif Alikhan, who was assistant Homeland Security secretary for policy development and is now a distinguished visiting professor of homeland security and counterterrorism at the National Defense University.
• Syrian-born Kareem Shora, who is Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano's senior policy adviser.
• Navy Cmdr. Youssef Aboul-Enein and Jocelyne Cesari, a Muslim convert who previously worked with Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, both of whom teach at colleges within the National Defense University.

Guandolo blames the advances Brotherhood figures on political correctness and lax vetting at government agencies.

Even at the FBI, he notes, an Iranian-born Muslim has taken over the agency's weapons of mass destruction program.

Stung by workplace discrimination lawsuits by Arab and Muslim employees, the FBI has come under pressure to hire more Arab and Muslim agents and language specialists and promote existing ones, while clearing them for higher security levels, according the best-selling book"Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America."

The book cites internal FBI records showing the agency has been sued by no fewer than 14 Arab and Muslim employees since 9/11. Some of the lawsuits have been solicited or aided by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, another Muslim Brotherhood front group. The FBI in 2008 cut off formal outreach with CAIR and its branch offices.

"This is happening as we remain silent. And I say that as a liberal Democrat who worked and campaigned for Barack Obama," said Fatah, a Pakistan-born journalist and activist who founded the moderate Muslim Canadian Congress to fight the spread of "Islamofascism."

"Muslim Mafia" also has prompted a lawsuit from CAIR over the acquisition by the authors of CAIR documents.

In the lawsuit, CAIR, a self-described Muslim civil-rights group, does not defend itself against the book's claims, and the FBI has seized the CAIR material from the Washington law office of one of the attorneys for the authors. A previous filing in the case revealeda federal grand jury is investigating CAIRfor possible violation of laws that ban financial dealings with terrorist groups or countries under U.S. sanctions.

AsWND reported, CAIR's complaint seeks to expunge all copies of "Muslim Mafia" in an attempt, according to defense lawyers, to eliminate evidence that could lead to criminal prosecution.

Does Obama Want to Destroy America? Yes, But…

by Warner Todd HustonRush Limbaugh and a few other radio hosts have made it a center piece of the attack against President Obama, the Tea Partiers have often put such sentiment on their protest signs, and the conservative chattering classes have been abuzz with the question: does Barack Obama want to destroy the United States?

The only real answer is “yes, but…” Yes he does, but only if it’s your ox being gored. Yes he does but there is more to it than that. And if it’s someone else’s veritable Oxen the answer might still be “yes, but…”

Conservative radio host Michael Medved, for one, emphatically denies that Obama wants to “destroy the country.” Medved employs the conventional logic that a politician that wants to be re-elected would not want to destroy the very nation that he has been elected to lead. That would make sense if only Obama were a conventional politician and if only Obama himself hadn’t told ABC News, “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.” That very sentence straight from this president’s own mouth seems to shoot full of holes Medved’s conventional logic.

Still, in a way, Medved has stumbled upon a certain amount of truth no matter how small. The problem is that what we really have here is a misunderstanding of concepts. The fact is, following his straight down the line, left-wing, anti-American, radical ideology, Obama does want to destroy the U.S.A. as it is now. But in his mind he is not trying to destroy America simply because he wants utter destruction and devastation to be the only outcome. You see, mere destruction isn’t his end goal as those on the right fear. In his left-wing ideology, he thinks after America’s fall he and his left-wing comrades will be building a new andbetter U.S.A. Where real Americans see destruction and the end of everything, the leftists see a re-birth to a better and, in their eyes, more moral America. He and his left-wing friends see the U.S. as a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the bad old days.

Herein lies the problem. Where conservatives see only the end, liberals see the end and then a brand new beginning. Certainly the liberals are completely wrong in their contention that what they are doing will bring a glorious re-birth, but the truth is that they certainly don’t think that they are ending the U.S. on a permanent basis nor is it their intention. Liberals are not in the game to be “evil.” They think they are doing what is right.

Liberals think that the U.S. is arrogant and needs to be taken down a notch or three. Liberals think that U.S. history is filled with nothing but evil and any attacks on the U.S. are richly deserved. Liberals think that the U.S. was founded by evil, selfish, hateful white men who were only interested in their own power and didn’t want to empower others. So, liberals want the founder’s memory eviscerated. Liberals think that ourcapitalist system needs to be eliminated. In short, liberals value nothing about the U.S. except its tradition of self-actuation, liberty, and its freedom to re-make itself and they want to use that capacity to erase everything that makes the U.S.A. the U.S.A. Once that is done they want to build a U.S. to their own liking using the very freedoms they used to lay her low.

This is the aim of groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, Moveon.org, the Center for American Progress, the Media Matters for America and other such extremist left-wing organizations. Even CAIR attempts to use America’s freedoms as a weapon against her.

But, again, these liberals think they are doing a good thing. The problem is that they are utterly wrong. If this country treads the left-wing path, the U.S. will not emerge a winner. It will be laid low just like the left wants, but it will not rise again. The left’s prescriptions will lead to our becoming a third world nation. And yet there is no doubt they really imagine they are doing good.

Like Medved, New York Times columnist David Brooks cannot understand this whole political reality.Brooks thinks that Obama and Democrats only tried too many things at once and that is why so many Americans are rising up against them. Apparently it was just an accident of scope, nothing but an act of overreach that frightened the voters. Otherwise, he sees the Democrats and Obama as your average, everyday American pols. He doesn’t see a radical, destroy-America agenda in their efforts. In fact, he ridiculously seems to think that it is the right that somehow wants to destroy the country with a “government war” agenda — a battle against all government. So, he sees both sides as in the wrong and his “centrist” position as the correct path.

What he simply can’t understand is that conservatives are not wholly anti-government. They are all about the right amount of government, government when and where it is most needed and efficacious has always been the American right’s goal.

In fact it is liberals that have used government to destroy America. Liberals have used the courts to destroy religion. Liberals have used the schools to preach against American history. Liberals have used government to weaken economies and create a culture of dependence. Conservatives have not used government to do anything of the kind. In fact, even in the bad old days it was Democrats that tried to use government as a weapon against those that it wanted to keep down.

This is the culture from which Obama and the largest number of his party come. They see government and our freedoms as the perfect weapon with which to destroy what once was in order to make America into what they want it to be and it’s an America that is radically different form what is always has been, what it was meant to be.

Yes, ordinary politicians wouldn’t want to destroy the country they were elected to lead and yes, ordinary pols would want to make sure they win the next election. But leftists like Obama think that they have this one small window to make the radical changes to this nation according to their ideological plan. Remember how they voted in Obamacare when the great majority disliked the policies? Remember how Democrats said we’d learn to like Obamacare anyway? This means that they don’t care if they lose elections in the short term. It is the obliteration of the old to be replaced by their new “improved” U.S.A. that is their actual goal, not anything as mundane as winning elections. They have a grand plan here, not just an simple election.

So, in everything that really matters, Michael Medved is wrong. Obama does want to destroy the U.S.A. That Obama thinks his left-wing ideas will later bring a rebirth is meaningless when reviewing the consequences of his “cure” for what he thinks ails America, a cure that will surely kill the patient.

If you think Obama is destroying America, you have a lot of company

It is no longer a question of whether Obama is destroying the greatest nation the world has ever known. It has become abundantly clear that, since he has been our chief executive, he has been destroying everything America is and believes in; viz., her economy, her faith, her heritage, her culture, and her future.

Here is the question: is President Obama destroying America on purpose

I suspect he is, but I remain uncertain. Here is why. On the face of it, there are only two possibilities: either Obama is deliberately destroying America or he is a true believer in liberal progressivism. As many times as it has been discredited, to be a true believer in liberal progressivism, he would have to be a stupid fool to continue being a true believer. I think he is not stupid or a fool, so what is the answer?

I am convinced that, like Adlai Stevenson was many years ago, Mr. Obama is a very intelligent fellow.

I am not sure many of you remember Mr. Stevenson. Adlai Ewing Stevenson II (February 5, 1900 – July 14, 1965) was a politician, known for his intellectual manner, oratorical eloquence, and promotion of liberal causes of the Democrat Party. He served as the 31st Governor of Illinois. He was the Democrat Party’s presidential nominee in 1952 and 1956. He lost both those races to Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower.

While he was an eloquent orator, he was not a good extemporaneous speaker. When he spoke extemporaneously he hemmed and hawed constantly. I believe this hemming and hawing was the result of his acute intelligence, which would shower him with so many possibilities of how to deliver a given thought, as he was trying to do just that, that he was forced constantly to sift through them to find just the right words to precisely express the thought he wished to deliver.

Do you see the resemblance between Adlai Stevenson and Barack Obama? I do, I see them as very much alike.

I have been amaze over the years how often highly intelligent people arrive at very stupid conclusions. I think that may be what has lead Obama to so many absurd conclusions. His intelligence certainly lead Mr. Stevenson to many absurd conclusion.

President Obama is destroying America

My ‘Top 10 List’ of how the Obama is destroying America by over spending and under performing:

• Debt, debt, and more debt. Unprecedented budget deficits into the foreseeable future.
• European socialist-style spending. Spending like crazy across the board.
• Spend, spend, spend. Billion for high-speed rail. Why? What is the ROI for the taxpayer.
• Freezing past spending in place. Having presided over vastly increased discretionary spending, he now wants to freeze those increases in place. This on top of the staggering discretionary spending increases of George Dubya.
• Expanding government. He is expanding our federal government at an unprecedented pace.
• More and higher taxes. Obama proposes $1.6 trillion in new taxes on families and businesses during the coming decade.
• No entitlements will be reformed. Really? This despite the fact Social Security and Medicare are forecast to permanently be in the red.
• Fake defense budget cuts. Some tiny Pentagon budget cuts actually amount to a small defense spending increases.
• Rosy assumptions. ‘Nuff said. Obama anticipates overly high economic growth and jobless rate.
• Obamacare will need more money. Includes money to implement an alphabet soup of healthcare related changes and increases.

I have attenuated this list and its explanations as much as possible. Still, I think there is enough to enable you to see that President Obama is bent on destroying America as an economic powerhouse to bring us to our knees and ready us for the next step in establishing a socialist and, indeed, finally a communist America made up of 50 soviets rather than 50 sovereign states.

The other aspects of the character of the United States of America: her faith, her heritage, her culture, and her future, have been addressed and will be addressed over and over again as the fight continues to make Obama a one-term president.

It appears that the "Dreams of [his] Father" are the key to understanding Barack Obama's actions as President, and what he sees as the future of America and American government.

Theories abound to explain the President's goals and actions. Critics in the business community--including some Obama voters who now have buyer's remorse--tend to focus on two main themes. The first is that Obama is clueless about business. The second is that Obama is a socialist--not an out-and-out Marxist, but something of a European-style socialist, with a penchant for leveling and government redistribution.

These theories aren't wrong so much as they are inadequate. Even if they could account for Obama's domestic policy, they cannot explain his foreign policy. The real problem with Obama is worse--much worse.

With election season uponus, we are getting a reminder of "the Campaigner Obama," whose rhetoric once galvanized and energized a core of liberal American support as it never had been before.

It also brings to mind the warnings that I and others had tried to spread that all was not as it seemed with Barack Obama II. More than once, I have implored those who seek to understand his true motivations and aspirations to read and contemplate Obama's past; both as a politician and as an author.

Today, many once avid, if not rabid, followers are disillusioned. Those who saw in him a threat to American greatness and leadership, and as an antagonist, at best, of capitalism and free markets have seen their worst fears and predictions realized.

Dinesh D'Souza, a conservative scholar and author, has provided what may be the best insight into what, exactly, shapes Barack Obama's vision and plans for his presidential agenda and the future of this country. It will ring true to those on both sides, and will reveal the underlying agenda driving Obama in his "transformation" of America.

What then is Obama's dream? We don't have to speculate because the President tells us himself in his autobiography, Dreams from My Father. According to Obama, his dream is his father's dream. Notice that his title is not Dreams of My Father but rather Dreams from My Father. Obama isn't writing about his father's dreams; he is writing about the dreams he received from his father.

How Obama Thinks

As he related in his first book, President Obama's life and goals are driven by the "Dreams From My Father," Barack Obama, Sr.:

Clearly the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. goes a long way to explain the actions and policies of his son in the Oval Office. And we can be doubly sure about his father's influence because those who know Obama well testify to it. His "granny" Sarah Obama (not his real grandmother but one of his grandfather's other wives) told Newsweek, "I look at him and I see all the same things--he has taken everything from his father. The son is realizing everything the father wanted. The dreams of the father are still alive in the son."

How Obama Thinks

We can trace the elder Obama's life as an anti-colonial leader and activist, showing how the focus of his rage against "imperial" governments shifted from the Europeans to the United States; and, how these feelings have colored and influenced all of his son's actions as an adult, in and out of government. In fact, you could take some of the father's own words, and easily work them into one of the son's speeches:

"We need to eliminate power structures that have been built through excessive accumulation so that not only a few individuals shall control a vast magnitude of resources as is the case now."

The senior Obama proposed that the state confiscate private land and raise taxes with no upper limit. In fact, he insisted that "theoretically there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed."

Remarkably, President Obama, who knows his father's history very well, has never mentioned his father's article. Even more remarkably, there has been virtually no reporting on a document that seems directly relevant to what the junior Obama is doing in the White House.

Do his father's views really fit in with Obama's present-day principles?

From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America's military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father's position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet.

For Obama, the solutions are simple. He must work to wring the neocolonialism out of America and the West.

Now, we have a conservative scholar laying out, in simple terms, not only where Barack Obama comes from, but where he plans to take us, and the rest of the world.

It's not too late to gain a deeper understanding of the man in the office of the Chief Executive of the United States. It may be too late to do much about it, though.

The historic day came and went. America’s charismatic President signed the health-care reform bill; the Vice-President kissed his boss’s posterior for succeeding where others failed, then quoted Virgil, calling him a Greek poet. Unlike a predecessor, however, he stopped short of misspelling “potatoes.”

The United States is much too big for one man to trash, but Barack “Yes, we can” Obama and his entourage are giving it a try. They’re making progress. Peace is already more elusive and security less certain for America and its allies than it was before Obama took office 15 months ago. His two-pronged foreign policy of sucking up to America’s enemies and putting down America’s friends is bearing fruit: Iran openly shows its contempt by redoubling its nuclear efforts and the Taliban has stepped up its outrages in Afghanistan. America’s friends are dismayed, and it’s just a matter of time before one or the other reminds America’s President of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s dictum that the only way to have a friend is to be one.

Ruining America at home is a more daunting task, even for Obama. Geography, coupled with traditions of individualism and enterprise, have made the land so wealthy, resilient and resourceful that even a $940-billion bill of compulsion — Americans will have to buy medical insurance by law — is unlikely to bankrupt it, though added to other measures to “stimulate” America’s economy, it might. The bill that Obama managed to con, charm, bully, cajole and finally squeak through the House of Representatives last Sunday — the vote was 219-212 — achieved something else, too: at least 14 lawsuits launched by states attorneys-general who consider the law unconstitutional.

Obama’s domestic policy of emulating various tried-and-failed models of interventionist government, from European-style socialism to regulatory despotism, has conjured up a multi-trillion dollar deficit, unemployment persisting at 10%, infestations of red tape worms and a general lack of confidence. It fits the style of “No Drama Obama” as a cool, calm, collected way of driving a country into the ground.

Does Obama want to drive America into the ground? I doubt it. Obama wants to be the president of a successful nation, not a failed one. Unfortunately, he seems to believe that the yellow brick road to success for America leads through a happy valley shrouded in what Tom Wolfe once described as a “quasi-Marxist fog.” He isn’t the only American (or Canadian) to be mired in this bizarre meteorological condition — obviously, for if he were alone, he couldn’t get elected. A lot of people wander about in a clammy, quasi-Marxist mist, aggravated by patches of Maoist or Marcusian miasma, dispensed by great academic obscurator-machines installed at most Western institutions of higher learning from Harvard to the Sorbonne. Occasionally these infected souls emerge from the haze, step into a polling booth and vote for one another. I’d describe them as dangerous, even deadly, but without malice. They mean well.

Obama means well, too. Of course, he’s ambitious and egotistical; he wouldn’t be a politician if he wasn’t, but when I wrote in 2008 that Obama’s platform of “change” merely meant he wanted to change from senator to president, I short-changed him. When Obama said “change” he meant it. He wanted to change America.

Obama is a patriot.

Samuel Johnson called patriotism the last refuge of the scoundrel, and no doubt it is, but patriotism is a mansion with many rooms and it also shelters genuine patriots who don’t just want to change their own status but think that by changing, say, an American-style free-enterprise democracy into a European-style social democracy, they’ll change their country for the better.

I think they’re mistaken, but what I think carries no weight. U.S. presidents endanger Canadians almost as much as they endanger Americans, but Canadians can’t defend themselves against American presidents at the polls. Fortunately, many Americans see Obama as I see him, giving rise to the “Tea Party” movement of popular opposition. Less fortunately, the clash is introducing a new tone of bitterness into American politics that I could do without.

“America has just witnessed an unconscionable abuse of power,” said Mitt Romney, the man to beat for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. He spoke a day after Obama’s health bill squeaked through. “It is a historic usurpation of the legislative process. [The President] unleashed the nuclear option, enlisted not a single Republican vote in either chamber, bribed reluctant members of his own party, paid off his union backers, scapegoated insurers and justified his act with patently fraudulent accounting ...

“For these reasons and more, the act should be repealed. That campaign begins today.”

Republicans, even under their current not-very-inspired leadership, stand poised to win several seats in both the Congress and the Senate in November’s mid-term elections. Opposition to Obama and Obamism is a rising tide and it’s lifting many boats. I suggest that between now and 2012 something is likely to give: Either the Obama presidency or a free, prosperous America. The country isn’t big enough for both.
