Hello members of Visa Journey,

I am writing today to get answers to my question about permanent residence for my newly wed wife.

Upon research of the process of AOS, I read that they require proof of me and my wife living together.

My girlfriend being originally from Canada and me from the USA, we got married on a spare of the moment decision on her recent visit and want to file AOS for her to stay here forever.

Me and her are in our early 20's and are living with my mother, and we do not have any utility bills or anything we bought together, or a lease or a joint anything yet, so my question is this,

How do me and my newly wedded wife prove we are living together in my mom's house if we do not have any proof such as a mortgage or utility or anything like that? How do we prove we are living together at my mom's house?

As much knowledge and details as possible will be greratly apreciated and thank you for taking time out of your day to read and answer this

Are you a USC ? if so you should not be posting here. You are not a permanent resident.

Your question is pretty simple, think about it. You live with your mother, what can she do to help you prove you live there? write a letter.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

Can you get your mom to write a letter saying you live there, and maybe get it notarised?

Some affidavits from friends or neighbours who know you live together are another option, as are letters addressed to both of you- especially cards congratulating you on the surprise wedding.

Filing the AOS requires the 864 support form. That is going to do a lot to identify how you support her. You will have many months to get ready for the AOS meeting. During that time you can work on the proof you need. A letter fom Mom will help & I suspect you will need her as a cosponsor.
