Fiance got in touch with the Montreal consulate today...

He was told I'm on a waiting list for my interview and it will take 4 months. The earliest I will have my interview will be January unless I am somehow moved up on the waiting list. This is crazy! Are there really that many people from the eastern half of Canada wanting to immigrate on a fiance visa to the US? I think they just like to drag their feet is what I think. Oh well. My fiance is going to visit next month and I'm going to get my medical and police check taken care of. I just pray that it is not 4 months. That's too damn long and by then it will have been a full damn year waiting for this to all get sorted out. Meanwhile...others are let in within a matter of months.

Four months will fly by, especially when you're consumed with gathering up all your stuff. I suggest you use the time to double, triple, and quadruple check every checklist, every form, every everything, and make multiple copies of everything. Have it all in the correct order, too; at our interview they asked for the documents in the order they appeared on the checklist. Helps things go faster if you don't have to hunt.

I would be upset if I were in your shoes. You filed the petition back in January. Now you are being told that maybe next January you will have your interview. I guess there is nothing else you can really do but wait. At least you are seeing each other in the mean time. Keep your spirits up, and hopefully in the future you will look back and appreciate what your love had to survive.

4 months is a lot, but you must keep in mind that it's not just a wait list for fiance visa, but for all immigration visas, usually. And maybe you'll get moved up the list and get an interview date sooner.

Oh Sarah I am so sorry to hear this, I hate that it is taking so long to get your interveiw, it just does not seem fair , does it. At least your fiance can come and visit, that is one good thing about the whole situation, I guess you are just going to have to look at the positive sides. I am wishing you the best, and hopefully your interview will get moved up *hugs*
