All the files from NVC are pdf files--if you can't open it, you MUST download Acrobat Reader from Adobe's web site, or you will not be able to read anything from NVC.

The availability of immigrant visas is different depending on whether the sponsor is a US citizen (USC) or legal permanent resident (LPR)

Then go here:

http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5518.html

Finfd the category that fits you and it will tell you how long you have to wait for a visa--or if you qualify at all.

Be more precise and then we can help you read the visa bulletin.

1) Your citizenship determines the category--or if you have dual citizenship

2) Is it just for you--a sibling of an LPR

3) Or are there others involved--your spouse (what is the citizenship), your kids (what is the citizenship)

4) Do you have a priority date

It would be best if you try to read it yourself first, and then explain EXACTLY which category you fall into.

I don't see that you qualify in any of the categories. Once you brother becomes a citizen then you would qualify as an F4, but even then they are only processing F4 with priority dates before April 2000, so it is eight years to get to your priority date. And once you become an LPR, you will have to wait several more years to bring your husband and kids.

This isn't going to be easy for you and your family.
