Online Case Status with USCIS not updated

So, I checked my online status yesterday (August 26) at about 6:30 p.m. eastern time and as usual, is says.. initial review....and my last update was February 9, 2011..2 days after my NOA1...I was of course, depressed as usual....two hours later, when I got home.. in my mail was a four-page RFE from USCIS....Now, mind you, I am not complaining, I am happy as ever to receive even the RFE....but what is up with the online status page? My RFE was post dated August 23 in California.. I am in New Jersey... Is it really taking so long for the online system to update? Anyone else notice this? Like I said.. I am much happier with a paper in my hand than I would ever be with an online status saying it was on its way... but it is at least 3 days past when they mailed it and the system is not showing it and i received no text status either... Much happier the way it happened ...but just wondering...

Our case was never loaded into the system until they sent our approval letter. From what USCIS told me one time I had called that they consider it more important to work on the actual cases than to upload every case into the system so there were cases that never got updated or loaded. Hopefully you can get your RFE in quickly and see your approval soon. good luck

I was checking the USCIS website every day, I needed confirmation from the site for my driving test. It was never updated in 4 weeks while I was and still am going through the A.O.S./E.A.D. process. I had the biometrics and 2 weeks later I received an interview letter, the very next day my case was updated on the website. Don't worry about it my friend, maybe they are too busy.

Good luck

Dave :)

My USCIS status still shows "initial review" and I have already received my NOA2 and am through the NVC process..I found out about the NOA2 by calling a tier 2 operator at USCIS..
