hey all

a couple of other posts have made the case to ignore "touches" on the USCIS website, since they're unreliable indicators of a case's progress. They've gone on to suggest that these forums exaggerate the effect of touches because participants only report touches' occurrence, not their absence, so we get a false indication of both 1) how frequently applications are touched, and 2) the relationship between touches and progress.

accordingly, i'd like to ask a question - after your AOS biometrics, how many of your applications weren't touched in the ensuing days?

For me, it's been almost 2 weeks and nothing. Is this common?

ive heard that the online status is completely worthless. the only thing that you want to see is "card production".

A touch doesn't mean anything. Online updates aren't always reliable. The only official updates from USCIS are the ones that you receive in your mailbox. Next one for you should be an interview appointment notice.

My Immigration Journey:

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

Jenni had her biometrics done last week and her status has not yet been touched. I've seen others comment that their status was touched right after getting their biometrics done. Seems to me if the ASC enters new info about you on a case there should be a new timestamp on the status. Any update from the OP for this thread?

Paul, touched in the initial stage means a lot of times that a RFE is coming. If you look at the OP's timeline you'll see he got an RFE for the I-864 evidence which means AP/EAD will not be worked on until the RFE is answered. The I-130 was never "touched" again. I don't put any significant value to the online status.

In regards to your case - give it 30 days for any response - be it that they are sending the EAD/AP or the interview appointment letter or an RFE.

All done ;-)
