Question for a friend about vaccines for AOS

It's been a while since I did this so I don't know if it changed. My friend from Australia is going through the process and said they now require a flu shot too? When I did AOS all they wanted was DT, MMR and chickenpox. Now it seems a whole lot more. She is from a family that doesn't vaccinate and I know there is a religious waiver available but I wonder if her best bet is just to get all the shot, I don't know if they ever approve the religious waiver at all? Does anyone know? Thanks!

The flu is required if it is "flu season". You can see the vaccinations generally required in the I-693. Different vaccinations will be required for different people.

If you friend has objections to vaccinations in general, a Form I-601 must be filed. It costs $585 and takes months--sometimes over a year to be approved. The applicant must show with strong evidence that his/her beliefs are sincere and there is adequate basis in rejecting the vaccines. The general health situation (as determined by the CDC) is often weighted with the evidence of moral conviction submitted.

In short, get the shots.

USCIS required shot list here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3384cc5222ff5210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=6abe6d26d17df110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD

CDC table explaining what age groups (and health requirements) require what shots: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/downloads/adult/mmwr-adult-schedule.pdf (see page 2)

You can see that HPV and Zoster are still on the table but aren't on the USCIS list so you ignore those ones.

Thanks for hte links - she'll opt for the waiver as her beliefs are very sincere and she's hopeful. I guess her fiance would move to Australia rather than having the shots in case it gets denied.
