Thanks again for all the answers.

My degree would qualify for an "Temporary Work Visa (H)". I wonder how "temporary" it would be.

Simple answer : If your profession is a specialty occupation, your prospective US employer can petition for a H1B visa on your behalf. USCIS will determine whether your profession is considered a specialty and either approve or deny the petition

If your prospective US employer has a branch operates in your country, and you are an employee of that branch, your employer can petition for a L1 visa.

You can read H1B and L1 visa general information on Wikipedia, and find out all the specifics about H1B and L1 visa on USCIS website. Usually US companies planning to bring in foreign workers hire immigration attorneys to handle their visa petitions.

You should treat the answers posted on this board as informal general information and have a qualified immigration attorney to help you.

Good luck and cheers
