No sarcasm LOL you started with cheap shots right from the start . Ms chill pill

Maybe a you need to open your mind. Because obviously

Your is closed

You LOL and sarcasm are inappropriate, as well as the rest of your post.

I did not attack anybody in first place.

I am not angry and I don't hang out in forums to pick on some people to get rid of my frustration. Furthermore, I did not answer to you, since your posts are hard to understand to me.

My point here is just that these issues are not black and white. There are grey areas and it's good for you that you have such a clear vision in your mind.

Hi folks,

I just found this article and I though maybe it would be useful for some.

"The Department of Homeland Security said the government would review about 300,000 deportation cases pending in federal immigration courts. Lower-priority cases -- those not involving individuals considered violent or otherwise dangerous -- would be suspended under the new criteria. "

http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/08/26/deportation.policy/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn

I could not find the original memo, maybe somebody knows where to find it?

Cheers,

M.

Unfortunately, nothing mobilizes the anti-immigrant crowd more than any policy some conservative influentials have decided to tag with the "amnesty" label. I am in support of this new policy and it makes sense to not deport young kids who were brought here as infants and young children by no choice of their own and have integrated very well in American society. I applaud this move which will prioritize the deportation of hard criminals over innocent young kids whose families would be broken apart. Expensive deportation procedures are wasted on young kids while criminals hide in the shadows. Targeting resources always makes sense. Most of the Dreamers kids don't even remember their birth country much less speak the foreign language. They are just like all other young people who study hard to become a contributing factor to our society. People need to look deeper to understand this fully.

Who's anti immigration ???

Illegal yes- illegal no !!

And talked about tags. The first thing the left say's is that we want is tear families apart. Sorry but Wrong !!!

Send crimmals back first yes after they serve time for any crimes. But blanket amnesty is nothing more then another atempt to circumvent our laws.

Always it is the "young children who were brought her by no choice of their own". Sorry but I DON'T CARE. Their parents who either came here illegally or came here legally and overstayed have had a direct and negative impact on me and many people I know. People wonder why the system is such a black box and the VO's seem to be so arbitrary and it is exactly for reasons like this. Every illegal immigrant is one more reason that my (and everyone else's) petition takes so long to get processed. Every illegal immigrant in the country is one more reason my in-laws can't get a visa to come visit me and their daughter and see her home.

I am all for a guest worker program that makes it easy and affordable for migrant workers to come here. I'm all for a guest worker program that makes it easy for unskilled labor to come here. I am not and never will be for a program that rewards people for bad behavior and being here illegally is bad behavior no matter how you cut it. If Washington want's to propose a program whereby these groups would return home and wait 10 to 12 months to get approved for a guest worker visa then I say great let's do that. I am fully cognizent of the work that illegal immigrants do here and the impact on keeping prices lower. I am also fully cognizent of the impact they have had on my and everyone else's visa petition for their spouse and later on for their families to visit.

I am not and never will be for a program that rewards people for bad behavior

Neither am I. In fact, I think nobody is.

I agree with many things you wrote about labor. However, I do not support the statement that

being here illegally is bad behavior no matter how you cut it.

I think that this is a grey area. I don't think that children should pay for their parents mistakes, even if those mistakes affect me directly. Do you think murderers' children should go to prison because their parent killed another human being? I think they should not. But that's where differences in morality come into play. We simply disagree on this simple moral point, and that's fine to me.

Thank you all for bringing the discussion back to a constructive level.

Yeah, and in more ways than most people realize has this impact been negative and in many cases fatal. If you live in an area than has not seen the impact of PC 'do nothing' illegal immigration policy.Just ask the families that had the misfortune to lose a loved one to a drunk driver with no license or that should not even be here in the first place.

This is simply not true. How can you enforce labor laws on people without a contract? If you want to talk about the reasons behind illegal working force, that's another issue.

I am not sure where you are from or how long you have been here, but when one is hired (employee) by someone (employer) you are covered under labor, wage, health and safety and workman compensations laws. Where this might not apply is if you are hired as an independent contractor and paid earnings on a Form 1099 as result of the contracted work performed. No contract is needed to be covered under aforementioned laws. So illegal workers are protected, many are just too afraid to seek protection. Now working here illegally is an entirely different horse.

Well, thanks to you now I know what you are talking about and where this is coming from. I think your anger is out of control, and I have to say unfortunately it does not surprise me.

M.

I have no anger at all, not even any anger that is out of control. I see that policy for what it is, because I am informed about its real intent. So you lash out at the messenger because you do not like the message. Ok!

I am going to stop answering after this, because the reason for my post was not to argue about politics, but to post an 'immigration' issue on an 'immigration' forum.

I honestly feel you posted that because you thought it might be of help to someone here, it just might help someone...I get your reason. And I merely stated that it was not likely to help most people here, because people here decided to enter the country through the front door and deal with the bureaucracy. And that policy would benefit those that entered through the back door.

I know you do not like the "back door" comment, but it is what it is. If Obama really wanted to help the people of the VJ community, he would sign an executive order putting into place a policy insuring this process was speed up a few notches and streamlining the reams of paperwork involved in bringing their loved ones, wives and fiance(e) to the country. Same goes for millions of others seeking to legally enter the country to be reunited with family or those just seeking a better life.

But that won't happen, nothing to be gained from doing so.

I agree with you 100%. I honestly don't think Mathilda posted this to piss everyone off...I really don't think that was her intention. And I usually stay completely away from negative threads like this because it's does Visa Journey no good and reaps no benefits at all...but I will say this much: the post made by "MHTA" about Ironman being a douchebag and a scumbag was completely and totally uncalled for. If I were an administrator for this site, I would completely delete MHTA's profile. That's really, really pathetic. WOW :wow:

Thank you all for bringing the discussion back to a constructive level.

Once the person turns 18 they are responsible for themselves and can no longer say their parents are responsible. We don't hold them responsible for their parents decisions, but once they are adults, they are now in the country illegally and should they choose to stay that is their decision not their parents. We don't hold murderers children responsible for the acts of their parents, but when they turn 18 if they go out and murder someone we don't just give them a pass because "that's what their parents did".

And before anyone starts on the "they only know the US as home" rant. Again, I DON'T CARE. You say they shouldn't be held responsible for the acts of their parents, but in many cases we are all held responsible for the acts of our parents. Further, my in-laws will be held accountable for the acts of all of those who have stayed here illegally any time they apply for a tourist visa. My in-laws neither came her illegally or stayed here illegally nor did anyone in their family. Is it fair that they be punished for someone else's parents acts?

I see you missed the point again by a country mile...let me help you. The point is if the person WAS NOT here, then no way to run into someone and cause a fatality in the first place. And yeah, being "drunk" is a contributing factor, but if that person who was NOT supposed to be here wasn't here, guess it would not matter if they are "drunk" or not drunk, there would be no innocent victims tat issue.

You only managed to get the "drunk" from what you read, never mind the illegal point that was being made.

Who mentioned "Mexicans?" It was not I! Mexicans are not the only nationality to comprise the illegal alien population and Mexicans are certianly not the only illegals driving "drunk."

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"

CAPT. LLOYD WILLIAMS, USMC
